It's all a bit quiet on here.......and we've just won 7-1! O.K.,our season is drifting to a close, but a few things are worth mentioning. A very even first half today....there has to be a Drugs Squad investigation into what was in the half-time tea! MM is already a fans' favourite, but today cemented it (until we start losing!) It was good to see Richards getting a just reward for his industry and touch today. Ummm, Richards or Zebroski?...tough call Carayol is just different class. Incredible acceleration; and he works for the team too. Parkes is so much better than Bolger. I like them both, but someone has to work with Bolger on his distribution. Good to see W Brown back. He didn't have the time or match fitness to make much of an impression, but he'll be useful next season. I do wonder why we always take free-kicks so quickly. MM seems to want us to keep possession rather than deliver into the box. Surely there are times when that is the better option Can we keep Carayol?...that's the question.
Good comments P49,Bolger looks better with a senior player ie Downes alongside him acts as a calming influence. I really like Parkes keeps it simple works hard good recovery rate, hope we keep him for next season along with Carayol what class, there defence torn to shreds when he got the ball shame some of the crosses were not put in the back of the net by our attackers. I have said before we are toothless without him hope MM picks up another Cary to replace Zeb and Anyinsah as we would be great along with a new striker. After watching the first half who would of thought we would have banged in another 7,you may be right about a drug test our thanks goes out to the tea lady or person. One for the scrap book................... COR
I have never seen City score Seven in a league game & I have been going for 53 years!! saw many six's but never 7 or more.
I cant remember the reds scoring seven. I do remember the young reds goalkeeper who had just moved to Shrews and had seven banged past him, Len Bond wasn't it? My memory may be iffy in both cases but I believe I'm right. Great day when Megson's Smash and Grab stuffed eight past Cloughie's Brighton. His come back was that they were the first team to score twice against the Gas that season. The game would have been postponed nowadays as the ground would be too frozen for modern players' safety!!! Yesterday's score could have given CJS a bit of a lift. Hope so anyway!!!
