Here comes Beckham Here's to hoping he smashes a free kick into the top corner in the 93rd minute a la Greece
I ****ing hate Spain and Spanish football. Barca 1-1 PSG FT, Barca through 3-3 on away goals PSG deserved the win so much more than Barca. In both legs, they were great - the clear better side tonight. Come on Dortmund (or Bayern), win this ****ing tournament!
Disappointed with Ancelotti tonight, with them 1-0 up it was crying out for a bit of tactical genius to either protect the lead or get a second goal to kill the game off. Shame Lavezzi wasn't a bit more clinical with his chances though he did well to make them for himself so wouldn't slate him at all.
I couldn't agree more. It really ****s me off when the media go on about them being a bastion of what football should be and what all clubs should aspire to in terms of purity yet they're cheating, nasty, classless ****s. Remember turning on the sprinklers where the Inter team celebrated after knocking them out after cheating feigning a poke in the eye to get Thiago Motta sent off and winking when the ref bought it? And they are so ****ing boring to watch. 25 sideways passes then back to the keeper isn't my idea of entertainment.
So people on here hate Man Utd and Barcelona? Is it winning that you dislike? I find Spain & Barca great to watch, if you don't, don't watch them. They've both won almost everything there is to win and often with consummate ease, they're hardly going to change their style because some people think they pass the ball sideways too often.
Johnny foreigner beat Johnny foreigner, no biggie. What happened in the real home of football, did Southend lose?
I can sort of understand finding Barce ok to watch the last few years, but spain? My God what a dull, monotonous team. 500 passes without any goal threat, score 1 or 2 and just pass out the rest of the game. Think ive nodded off in all their games. Whereas teams like Italy and Germany are quality to watch as of late.
I just totally disagree, I think a lot of the hatred towards them is born out of jealousy, they're so far ahead of everyone else it's frightening. I can't believe anyone could watch them demolish Italy 4-0 in the final of the Euros and then say: "500 passes without any goal threat, score 1 or 2 and just pass out the rest of the game. Think ive nodded off in all their games. Whereas teams like Italy and Germany are quality to watch as of late." They made a mockery of Italy in that game whilst playing great football, their left-back (Alba) was further forward for Spain than Cassano was for Italy most of the game!
Theres no jealously, if i'm watching a team that I have no affiliation with I have to find it exciting, otherwise what's the point? I've got zero interest in seeing teams win other than City, anyone else I want to see good football. Most of their results are by the odd goal, if they actually played with a striker up front they might interest me. Ive got no interest in seeing 11 mid-fielders play keep ball, when if they actually went for it they could get cricket scores.
Well I think the example of Italy in the final shows they don't just try and hold onto narrow leads like we do. I find it exciting but like I say, if you don't, don't watch but they're not going to change their style when they're the most dominant country in world football for a fairly long time.
I doubt it. Bayern are in with a shout but the 'Mourinho's farewell' factor at Madrid and the fact that Barca are the best team in the world make those two the favourites for me. If Barca can avoid Madrid I think they'll win it, if not, I'd fancy Madrid.
