I have backed Del and don't like calling for managers heads, simply because can anyone change the players we have? but today I was totally confused with the line up. My dilemma is, if he goes we will then get another manager probably knowing us someone like Andy Thorn or Keith Hill. We won't get SoD or the one I want Paolo Di Canio. I then suspect the new one will want to try players that we all or most know should never wear a City shirt again. Fontaine, Kilkenny, Elliott, M Wilson and Morris? I hope that if Del stays he has learnt that Fontaine confidence has now gone too far and needs another challenge somewhere else. Elliott has now gone past his sell by date. And I'm not going to give the other muppets an excuse. What really grates me is we have a good goalscorer sat on the bench, another that does not get a subs place. If Davies was injured surely the club should know the fans view on Davies and announce that he is injured or something just not be quiet on the matter. Communication could pacify us enough to try and understand. So I now feel that I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I understand the academy side and appreciate what has been going on, but someone good can also take that on. But as I said would we do a normal City trait and go for someone that is untested at this level or go for a tried and trusted manager?
ROD wait to you hear the reason davies wasn't there................... There wasn't enough room on the bench for him Sorry but McInnes is a **** manager, He cant even get something as basic as the starting line up right. He's lost the plot, Doesn't know what he's doing. Ive lost patience and todays team sums up what many of us have known for a long time. McInnes isn't the man for us. I would rather take a gamble on someone else than watch that twat manage the team until april.
Last 10 games....W 3....D 2....L 5......Points 11....GF 14....GA 16.... Is that sacking form.....? That's my dilemma...
Wiz our whole season is sacking form Last season the man said himself he doesn't want to be part of this club if it means this type of struggle. Well he's put us in it himself now. He's had long enough and he isn't the man we wanted him to be, sorry.
I agree Wiz, the tide does seem to be turning but then to do what he done today was just baffling. It's like he's trying to prove people wrong about Fontaine. As my wife says why isn't J.Wilson been given a chance or D.Wilson. In a way I really want him to succeed but it's difficult to defend when we leave players like we do on the bench and continue with these players that don't deserve to be wearing the shirt. What scares me though is if someone new comes in we will have to go through these same players letting the team down again.
Everyone knows my opinion of mciness, putting it blunt he's out of his depth, what he said about davies is just embarrasing.. he picks names out of a hat then plays them.. I worry for the board if they give him money.. might aswell chuck it away.. poor eye for a player, poor tactics poor man management.
There you go again. So you say that Heaton, Cunningham, Baldock, Davies (not fit) and Anderson are poor players... We have half a team plus a few loanees/short term contracts at the moment and I don't think that any of these have let us down, do you...? Lets see what happens when the other half of the team arrives. By the way, what is out of depth, do they play 15-a-side and with a square ball in Scotland...? The game and rules are the same the world over, the ONLY difference anywhere is the standard of the players
leaves baldock on the bench, doesn't even put Davies in the squad? You here the reasoning for it?? Not enough room on the subs bench.. couldn't fit our best striker on the subs bench. When the other half of the team arrives? In other words buy no players in the window and bring in some loan players who can't fit into the Blackburn team? Can't wait for Del boy to work his magic. In all due respect Prem do you go to games?? Do you seen the standard of performances we play most weeks? The baffling tactics he makes week in week out.. No, none of them have let us down at all.. Bates is poor.. Marc Wilson is dire.. he brings in Danny Wilson on loan, doesn't play him.. When will you admit he's a poor manager, worse record then Tinman and Millen now.
Of course I go to the games... I am telling you that Davies is not fully fit, he is carrying an injury of some sort. That much was pretty obvious watching his cameo against P/boro... Bates is poor...? - maybe you should read this http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20252698 - here's the relevant bit... The Stockton-born defender was a reported target for Premier League clubs last season, after establishing himself as a first-team regular and taken the captain's armband at the Riverside. He is anything but poor, just not fully battle hardened yet... Haven't seen enough of M Wilson to comment but didn't D Wilson do a hamstring or something such like as soon as he got here...? I understood that he's gone back to Liverpool to get treatment..? I am not prepared to give up on DM just yet, however as I repeatedly keep telling you, the old squad wasn't good enough but, you can't replace it all in one go...!
Ok so If Davies Isn't fully fit why didn't ol' Del Boy just say that then?? Bristol City FC‏@bcfctweets DM: "Davo was in squad but with one up top and two strikers on the bench, we couldn't get another on the bench." people would understand if he was injured.. And I went to Millwall, Bates was at fault for the first goal.. He couldn't get anywhere near Henderson for the whole game.. so much for a "premiership defender" First week D Wilson was here he wasn't injured and he chose fontaine instead of him.. BAFFLING.. There's a reason the squad isn't good enough.. because del boys got a chance to make his own squad! and look where we are..
We have never been able to handle Henderson, we must be the first fixture he looks for. He's given a few premier league defenders a right going over in his time... Del has HALF a squad of his own making at the moment....
Heaten, cunningham, mcmanus, bates, Foster, Danns, pearson, morris, anderson, baldock, davies, wilson, bryan Thats a whole team ..it's hardley "half a squad of his own making" is it
I have tried to stay positive for Del, but I'm struggling. We all know how strong this division is and coming from the Scottish prem where the quality is piss poor it has caught him out. Players brought in ; Jody Morris on £4,000 per week a mistake in signing, Wilson too slow, McManus slow and the other loan players arrived unfit, had he not seen these players in action before signing up? I wish he hadn't changed 'a winning team' today, Baldock must think whats does he have to do to start, Davies dropped? we could have a competition to predict the starting 11 for the next match and never get a winner! Come on Del & Doc for **** sake get it sorted!
To add fuel to the fire,I've just read this twitter report from Neil Danns....' Great support again from the travelling fans, would just like to thank everyone at Bristol for the kindness and support I have been shown'.... I'm getting bloody worried..
PERMANENT (i.e. worth a long term contract over 1 year) signings:- Heaton, Cunningham, Foster, Pearson, Anderson, Baldock, Davies Bryan & Wilson were here already and the rest are SHORT TERM signings, i.e. to get us through to July 2013 when 12 players on full time contracts are out of contract Bigger picture Rodney, bigger picture....
marc wilson was already here.. bryan wasn't playing before mciness came in so i count him.. get us through july 2013? what happens if mourinho I mean Mciness takes us down to league 1? is he still the best thing since slice bread in your eyes??
For one of the few occasions I tend regrettably to side with Prem on this one. We are in a very deep hole and unless Del can get us out of this with a few astute signings in the next week or so we are doomed. The excuses lost their validity a long time ago and now we have to trust the footballing gods to save us and I am very doubtful if they even exist. I really don't think that Del is the man but we are left with no other viable option and the saviours that are supposed to be coming our way soon probably might prefer to give us a wide berth. The situation at City has deteriorated over the last 4-5 years and now we are reaping the whirlwind from those years of neglect and total lack of foresight on behalf of the people who should know better. Heads should be rolling along the streets of BS3 but no-one seems to have the balls to get in to the fray and the first casualty will inevitably be Derek McInnes, probably sooner rather than later. Another sad chapter in our history that should never been allowed to happen, but when you think about it that is our history.
Don't see how anyone can still have faith in him? He makes mistake after mistake, and come February were going to have more players brought in who sit on the bench. Want him out pronto!
