Just got a message from the club to say that we can meet Jamie Mackie in the family fan zone before the game on Saturday!

Now all I need is a ticket and a small child to finally meet him face to face! I want to challenge him to a keepie uppie competition. To make it fair, I'll only use my left foot. And wear a blindfold. And be pissed out of my skull.

Isn't that a bit unfair on account of the fact that that's your normal state of being?

I think that you are reprehensible. Using a small child to do keepie uppies. Their bodies are very fragile at that age and being kicked up and down by you and Jamie could cause serious injury.

Please reconsider, I implore you, and do the sensible thing and take a ball or hacky sack with you.

Having said that I have just seen the notice "Kids for £1" for tomorrow. A fiver's worth should see you and Jamie right.

Well, if you think Jamie might injure himself again, I'll take a beach ball.

He's a national treasure of Scotland, which as we all know is foreign.

I spent much of my schooldays avoiding heading one of those footballs.

If you click on the 'play' button you can hear Mackie being interviewed by Ian Taylor and Andy Sinton. There's a great sound clip at the beginning.

I got confused and thought you were referring to the Strokes album Is This It.

To be a fair contest, you would need to do keepy uppies with crutches and little discernable talent but bags of enthusiasm (if enthusiasm is not readily available then I suppose manure might do - recommend to use a Co-op bag for life because you can swap it for a new one afterwards).

    Godspeed.

Sb, the very least you can do when you meet him face to face, is get him to sign your weekly prediction score card ............. just get him to sign off on the 1-1, Mackie own goal ................. even though he is out injured mind you.
Thanks, I can assist in posting the image if need be.<laugh>

Thought better of it. You should never meet your heroes, and my 3rd party insurance has expired.
