shrews 0 crewe 1, anyon off injured in the paint dry cup. what makes this seem worse is that gt is playing a strong side. let us hope things improve in the 2nd half. or else. lord knows what will happen on sunday

Agree we need to concentrate on the league. Also getting a bit worried about the injuries we seem to be getting recently with Joe Anyon going off after 10 minutes with possible hamstring , that 3 in as many games . Are our players warming up properly ? Do we need a change of coach ? It's not going well , with the size of our squad it's getting a bi worrying.

I think we have to trust GT, he's done us proud so far, and when your scrabbling around the bottom of this league the last thing you want to be is involved in this silly cup competition, because you can loose players through injury for absolutely nothing like last night, the fact that Turner loves this cup is well beyond me, most teams just want to get out of it!!...the fact that less than 2000 shrew supporters turned up tells its own story!!, no, this is all down to RW, and his reluctance to part with the cash(our cash), this in fact reflects on some of GT's poor quality loan signings and some real bad business at the start of the season when our player going out were better than the one's coming in. over the past three or four years we have had some great attendances and sold and made decent profit on some good players, the question i ask is...where has the gate receipt money gone over this time and where is the investment in our youth squad?

I think the youth squad investment , while important, is a very long term project as Crewe have shown. Much vaunted young players like Bradshaw, Taylor and Goldson have not been able to establish themselves in the team (especially in this more demanding league) and agents start whispering rubbish in their ears as soon as they have a good game or to so you are now likely to lose young players quickly for paltry compensation payments. What we need now is a couple of decent experienced players in on loan to make an immediate impact - I know GT has been trying hard but the chairman quite rightly will not pay silly wages which is whats happening at clubs like Swindon.

A shame that as it is a long time since we won a cup game 7-0.
