Amazing how something has to be done when a United player gets hit. Suarez gets pelted, as does Gerrard. Bellamy gets a bottle on the back of his head. Carragher gets hit and throws it back - and the press roundly condemn him. But when a United player gets hit.... Still, if they actually start identifying people and prosecuting them for assault or attempted assault, then perhaps some good will have come from it.
Well thats 2 people who agree with you Also Gordon Taylor, what a worm , so far up Fergies ar*e its untrue
Remember when he wrote in his autobiography about how Liverpool fans threw bananas at him in his Watford days? At least racism isn't as bad as it was back then, or hooliganism for that matter despite the bad press for both lately.
not saying this to defend them as i f*ing hate the turdites, but is this not just a case of because someone got injured as a result from the coin throwing then something needed to be done, just so happened to be a utd player on the receiving end. similar to my point about why the ruddy hell the FA can not punish reckless challenges after the game if the ref got them wrong, or does that have to be a serious injury or career ender first as well.
To be honest, that wouldn't surprise because football was riddled with twats back then, every club had them. However, I have his book at home and that comment does not appear. He has nothing but praise for Liverpool, before and after his transfer!
They have done in the past http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/live...-after-punching-phil-neville-100252-20813969/ Joking aside this issue affects the whole of football. No club should be taking the moral high ground here, as it's happened all over the place. It's just plain wrong & it's time the game took this issue seriously & stamped it out.
You can tell that the build up to the 2016 Olympics in Brazil have now started.... People are already throwing money at Rio.
Of course. It's utterly shocking how nothing was done when coins were thrown at Carragher and Bellamy. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2002/feb/24/newsstory.sport3 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...at-Manchester-City-striker-Craig-Bellamy.html Be sure to let me know when the fans who threw coins at Hernandez and Rio are arrested...
You can't blame the club for individual actions, it is how the club responds that counts so surely this puts Liverpool in a good light? A season ticket holder as been banned for misbehaving! Finally, a sensible comment from boots
selective injustice all-round. now foreign players will sit in a culture class while british players. ..well, they already know the culture!
i meant coin-throwing Tobes. I think we had this conversation on old 606 at the time: I'd never stick up for this idiot who cringingly tried to use Heysel and Hillsborough as an excuse angry , but 'punched'? Looked no more of a shove to me than the way Gerrard was pushed and jostled when his momentum took him into the Gladwys St in that 3-0 game we lost when Johson scored a hattrick (and Poll gave EVERY decision to you, as happens in most derbies). BUT, I accept your point whole-heartedly - our fans are no innocents. When I was a teenager I must confess that one of my mates threw a coin at Joe Jordan in the '79 FA cup semi-final at Goodison. He's a police sergeant now...
Two things, Eric and Swarbs. Firstly, no-one came out and suggested that nets be installed around the ground and life bans should be handed out when those players were 'assaulted', and the rent-a-quote mob of Taylor and the like stayed under their stones. Secondly, **** off back to your own board - you can't take what you give out yourself, so we should have a ****ing net keeping you dickless twats off our pitch. Thank you.
He was a melt & got what he deserved mate. We've been one of the worst for it in recent years & I hate it. At last seasons derby (after Atkinson had chosen to ruin the game), the atmosphere was horrendous & there was all sorts being thrown at Carroll when he scored & then at Suarez. As a direct result, we are now no longer allowed to take plastic bottles beyond the concourse stairs! Afterwards there was Evertonians trying to excuse the behaviour as either 'understandable' or in some way 'part of the game' it wound me off the clock, as all I could see was some morons pelting opposition players as they were pissed & pissed off & it was reflecting badly on my club. It happened again at this seasons derby, albeit on a lesser scale, but still nonetheless totally out of order. So I welcome the game choosing to confront this issue, as it could end with a player suffering a serious injury, if it's allowed to continue unchallenged. Even without that possibility, who could ever say that this type of beahviour has any place in society let alone at a sporting venue?
love the way Rio walked about without wiping the blood, making sure it could be seen Throwing sh!t at players is what it is, one of the most cowardly things you could do at a game. Arrested and permanently banned is the order of the day. As much as I dislike Rio that coin hit was not far from his eye!! Could have blinded the chap in one eye
The tolerance for arsetalk is low here, fuk back off to your own board where Swarbs can mod 20 threads about Liverpool, no need to come here
I only saw the highlights on MOTD so I could be wrong here, did Rio wipe the blood off with his shirt but wasn't asked to change his shirt?
