It all came to an end in the next game though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMk10hzpfdc The only match I missed that year. I couldn't get a ticket because of all the glory hunter, part time, 'fans'
"The Robins' success was built on their dominance of midfield" It's been many years since we could claim that....
Three games among so many memories. The twenty minutes at Elland Road after Donnie scored were the longest of my life. "Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end..........."
It was the journey home that I remember most, chunks of concrete aimed at our coaches from bridges on the way out of Leeds.
The Cheese's goal against the Assenal and Tinmans against Liverpool, worst time the drive back from Cardiff when Brighton beat us 1-0, closely followed by the Hull fatman at Wembley, I like Hull so it eased the pain, just a bit...

Thanks Hawk, I've just watched it. I still have the video of it somewhere but don't know where the video player is. I'm in the crowd in the Dolman for most of the games shown but I can see myself in the front row of the stand at Arsenal with wife and stepson where we absolutely roasted. And again in Part 6 I'm in the Ashton Gate car park almost at the end of the video. So many lovely memories, I just dream that it will happen again while I'm still around to be part of it.
I was in the East End then the Dolman during those years I left Bristol to work in Manchester during our final season in L1 79/80 just after the match where we beat Sunderland on a tuesday night I think it was it to go second in the table dropping back to 6th after the wednesday games after that things just went to pot.
Yes, we were 8th in October and it's been mainly downhill since then. (1980-82 on the Cresta Run in Switzerland)
