Well done City you did it right tonight after going down 0-1 you came back to 2-1 for us. Then to top it all you went back to 2-2 and still came back again for the 3 points. Yes! Full marks against a good team and now you can carry on with a few more to help DM to get us back on track. A belated birthday present is so welcome. Thanks again and well done - whoopee!
Well said Mike, another double strange that we continue to play well against teams we have already taken points off
Fantastic result - at last! Shiny - your prediction wasn't mad after all, glad to be proved wrong! How was I to know Del would see the light and play Stead + Pitman at last. Was it an actual 4-4-2, haven't seen any comments one way or the other on formation for a change..... Whatever - who cares - a WIN!!!!!!!!!!! Waaahaaaay!!!!
I'll go out and say it, we didn't look troubled until we were 2-1 up. Leicester played and played but they did very little. With our loan signings we suddenly look like a team with depth. I made the point we did the double over Southampton and have actually strengthened our squad since then, hence the frustration at our awful form. I'm not getting ahead of myself, we conceded another two goals. And if anything, more questions have been raised in McInnes' mind about who should and shouldn't start when everyone wishes we could just find a consistent side. But if we win, who cares. Brave indeed not to force on Adomah, and Bolasie was left on the bench as his recent performances deserved. Nothing about tonight has shaken my faith in McInnes. He's a man still learning at this level, and if we stay up it should rank among his best achievements. 5 points clear of relegation... onwards and upwards?
It wasnt pretty but it was a win. NOT the greatest display this season as some fans were saying on the radio as yet again there were too many mistakes at the backs and teams are figuring us out that we cant handle crosses but we scored more than we let in and it puts us one step closer to safety. Was nice to see a consistant ref as he got everything wrong for both teams. With our recent refs we have had we got off with some lucky judgements. I think we could have been down to 10 men and facing a penalty when our own player headed the ball over James who then brought down their player who was running on to the ball. Glad the decision went our way but seen them given the other way plenty of times. In all its 3 points and a boost to moral to help in up coming games
I think Del will have learned a lot about the team/squad and the tactics tonight. Hopefully that should stand us in good Stead (pun intended) for the rest of the season and beyond
Not able to attend the game yesterday I have a question! When Albert came on did Foster go back to RB and did we lose a bit of shape? Noticed this before in other teams that sometimes you build a team around a player and lose the shape whilst I think Albert is class going forward his defending skills do limit us on the right. Maybe keep Foster at right wing and move Albert more central? As I said I wasn't there so can't really judge so don't shoot me
Adomah came on for Bryant and played same role left side. Foster was excellent all night right side doing a job with Carey.
