Morning Lads, looking through some transfer rumours, the usually wreck the head stuff and it got me thinking. Would Walcott fit in with the Liverpool way. The way we are playing now, 80 percent of the teams we play against will play and deep defensive line, leaving no room to get in behind. I think Walcotts abilities are mainly to destroy teams with a high offensive line, getting in behind with pace and what not. Unless I missing something, rarely see him getting the usually poachers goal that say maybe sturridge would get.

What yis reckon? Sorry if this has been done before.

I think either could be good. But they are not quite the same..

Walcott: I think Walcott is the perfect fit for us right now. But him as a wide forward and he will make those runs in narrow in to the space ahead of Suarez. He will feed off of Suarez creativity well and score goals. He is also able to run wide, add width and score from tight angels.

Sturridge: Sturridge will also run into the space Suarez creates. He is very good at little quick shots and flicks, so he should do well feeding off of Suarez's creativity. But Sturridge maybe would not be so good going out wide.

Both could be good. Iff I had to choose: Walcott.

  3. I think everyone know how much I don't want us to sign Walcott, but I would prefer him to Danny or Thomas!

    Why not Gerrez?

  5. I don't rate him. Instinctively he is a good player but give him time and he will **** it up. His finishing has been much better of late though <ok>

Edit: plus, £90k per week for a unproven striker isn't what I would call good business. I wouldn't give him £90k per week to play in his proven position!

Sturridge is too lazy, selfish and sometimes wasteful. He is not what we need and would cost too much for what he is.

Walcott has been better this season, but I'm nowhere near convinced he can cut it as a striker. If Brendan is going to play a team full of "Goalscoring Midfielders", he is not good enough. his passing isn't as good as I'd like, has gone missing a lot. His wages would probably be a problem.

I think both would add to the squad, but we need somebody to come in and do a ****ing job, neither of these would do it IMO. Love to see Huntelaar come to Anfield & Pair up with Suarez again.

This <ok> add to that the fact that Sterlings pace has been completely negated by our system this year because we pass the ball so many times when going forward. More pace sounds great but in reality will be utilised as much as a Scottish panda uses its penis.

Ok, so what we need is an out and out goalscorer but there is a lot to be said about movement off the ball, if ur a defender I think you wud rather mark Sturridge than Walcott, simply because of the movement of Walcott. But then again, I haven’t seen that much of arsenal live to see his movements. We do need somebody occupying a couple of defenders to allow our midfielders the time and space..plus Luiz would run amock

Sturridge is too much of a risk and Walcott is injury prone, there must be better options.

  11. The reason I am mixed on Sturridge is I don' think he is the right fit because of his greediness and lack of effort but the other part of me thinks he could really hit the ground running and bag us some goals like he did at Bolton.

Would I sign him...? No <ok>

Why can't we just look at other leagues? Bundesliga and la liga have infinitely better and cheaper options.

Think if you’re buying in January you want a proven goalscorer in the league, just my opinion

I do agree and if we could get Walcott or Sturridge for under £10m I don't think we can complain. However, like youve just said, a name like llorente would worry other teams and make us a bit of a force again. Utd for all their **** midfielders, teams are still fearful and collapse to them.

    Nothing will "come up" <ok>

I agree with Jaffakop on this one...much better players available for the same money elsewhere.
