With the injuries mounting, how happy would you be with:
    .....................Chesney
    Jenkinson Vermaelen Koscielny Sagna
    Miyaichi Ramsey Frimpong Arshavin
    ....................RvP Theo

Is Theo ready to play as a striker? Will the midfield be over-run? Is the team too inexperienced?

Certainly better than the awful Rosicky in midfield... Frimpong gives us much needed physicality. Try telling Wenger to play 4-4-2 though... :p

I would like to see a 4-4-1-1 with RVP playing off Theo, like when RVP used to play of Henry. Midfield looks quality too.

Theo is a striker full stop. Wenger loves trying to convert people. It worked with Henry .....

It failed with Eboue, Walcott, Bendtner, Diaby and Arshavin. Why Wenger can't play players in their main position is beyond me. 3 times now I can remember theo playing up front and 3 times he looked fantastic and well worth the hype. As a winger he is mediocre.

  6. I've always believed he would excel at this role. There have been examples of this. Remember the away match to Wigan in 2009/2010. He scored 2x only sadly for us to draw. That too ought to have been another heavy hint but Arsene seems not to heed these signs.....

Oh, and remember the England match against Croatia?

With arsenal having over 9000 wingers, and no good strikers apart from RVP, surely Theo has to be a forward?

  8. Arsene Wenger is not unknown to locate players out of position. What for I really don't know. TBH I am not very clued up on positions. Others are and following commentaries one gets the impression that Theo should be a striker. Now here is another player we could potentially lose if we are not careful.....

he has 2 years left. as does RvP. i'm hoping they're working on extending their contracts NOW because if they wait til Christmas it's all gona get messy. RvP leaving next summer for a paltry 15m would be AWFUL.

  10. True but I honestly think RVP has loyalties beyond the level shown of late by key players who have moved on. He has also made pledges and said things in a manner by which the others have never done. That said, I agree that we should extend their contracts at the earliest opportunity.

I agree we should try playing him up front, maybe for certain games to give us a little variety. The problem is most teams play deep against us which nullifies his pace. Thats why we use RVP because he can do so much more with the ball.

Ultimately Wenger wants the front three to constantly interchange, each acting as a striker when in position. Unfortunately we are yet to settle properly as a team.

Wenger played Arshavin upfront rather than Theo so I cant see him giving him the chance.

Wenger needs to bite the bullet and learn to change his tactics in order to win. Use the speed merchants of Walcott, OXO, Gervinho and Miyachi on the counter. But man the guy is sooooo stubborn!
