The last part was a joke, hence the ( ) Whilst I would love it if you went down, obviously I hope you would come back up..... eventually. Although the longer you're down there the funnier it would be
If Bristol City beat Notts county If Crewe beat Shrewsbury if Walsall beat Carlisle and if Sheffield united beat Stevenage Bristol City will have confirmed league 1 football for next season.
To be honest I'm only interested in how it affects us. Does the Gas going down mean anything to our club - probably not It will not be good for the City to lose a football league team. I think they will be ok, so academic anyway
I want them to stay up as I I enjoy the banter, but would like them to sweat until the last game. But in answer to your question yes it would benefit us them going down. When the youngsters choose a team (after they've picked the glory teams) they are more likely to pick us being a league team in place of them. I would think we could get an extra 10% fan base, increasing the longer they stay down. We won't see the benefit until these kids get older but it could benefit us.
If they go down it will congratulate those I know who are rovers fans for not being a Glory 'supporting' fan who thinks that they are a fan because they own a shirt, watch match of the day and litter Facebook with pointless statuses about their beloved clubs. I hate those people with passion.
Sorry to disagree with the majority, but Bristol, including City, need the Rovers to stay in the football league. If they go down we'll never have the chance to beat them in the JTP. LC or FAC again.................
Yes, I'll laugh hard if Rovers go down, but ultimately it will be a bad thing to have a local team fall. Personally, I'd rather have a strong rival in the same league as us than a rival playing non-league football. A rivalry means little if it it's between a strong team and a weak team. Also, the worse our local teams are, the more our local kids are going to grow up supporting Premier League teams over their local teams, and one of the things that makes a local team worth supporting is a local rivalry, something that most of the top teams have to share. While it makes me laugh that Rovers could end up with the best stadium in non-league football (especially since I put the idea of a football stadium forward at the UWE new land consultancy) I would prefer to see them in League 1 with us, for both the rivalry and the easy 6 points over a season... I'd go as far as to say that I'd be more than happy to see some of our unused players go over to Bristol Rovers to get some playing time. I don't know if they'd go for it after Agent Akinde took them down to where they are right now, but we've got a number of youngsters in our first-team and academy that probably won't play first-team football for the club again, so they might as well play it elsewhere.
I don't want Rovers to go down, because they have the name Bristol before them and frankly I think Bristol needs all the local football interest it can get. Otherwise those redundant gas heads will sod off to support Man U or Chelski, or take up women's hockey or rugby or something
I can safely say we are doomed. Sad indeed, but I will continue to go (bloody got to now as I bought a season ticket before knowing what league we will be in ) I can also say that if this was reversed and it were you lot facing this prospect, I would laugh my nuts off at you , but can honestly say 100% hand on heart that I wouldn't want city to go down. Rivalry's with Yeovil, Swindle, Cheltenham etc just doesn't cut it. The banter is ****, the games feel lightweight and the buzz is not there. It makes me sad that our football teams are as bad as they are, let alone one being in non league. It hurt's like hell to witness my clubs team players stroll around a football field for 85 minutes with not a care in the world whilst getting thumped by Torquay, the worst team in England's professional football leagues. If we go down, we would most certainly deserve it. The biggest shame of it all... most of those players will probably get contracts at other league two sides whilst we rot in hell. Gutted doesn't come close
There is a very strong chance you will loose you last four games,i hope not,but that will send you down to the conferance
You wont go down.... would be funny if you did but you'll survive........ JUST But if you dont mind i shall be laughing my ass off at you all worrying until the end of the season
I don't want to die but I ain't keen on living either.... Shiny your tag at the bottom mmmm Enjoy every day mate, life is so so short, there is no rehearsal.
