So we play a team from acroos the bridge, a team four places beneath us and ten points fewer...we must win! There’s a debate raging about the home attendances...and the lack of bums on seats. I have said it before and Masky will repeat it...too much money in the game! They have allowed the kids to get away from supporting them. I grew up supporting city, and it’s difficult to shake it offf...I’d love to! When the adults fail to show up, there’s nothing to fall back on. At least fill the top stand up with free kids for the run in...atmosphere and enthusiasm....sow the seeds now! Fug off Masky! Cardiff City captain Sean Morrison is a doubt for Sunday's Severnside derby after coming off in the midweek win at Ipswich with a groin problem. Callum Paterson (ankle) faces a late fitness test for the Bluebirds as they bid for a fourth league win in a row. Joe Bryan may replace Hordur Magnusson (hamstring) in Bristol City's defence. Midfielder Marlon Pack is banned, but Milan Djuric (groin) and Eros Pisano (hamstring) have resumed full training and could return to the squad. SAM's prediction Home win 48% Draw 26% Away win 26% Match facts Cardiff have won eight of their last 10 home matches against the Robins in all competitions, drawing the other two. Bristol City have not completed a league double over the Bluebirds since the 2002-03 season. Since losing four successive league games during the festive period, Cardiff have picked up 17 points of a possible 21 (W5 D2). Bristol City have won just one of their last nine league games (D4 L4), although they have managed to remain in the play-off places during this period. Cardiff defender Sean Morrison has found the net in three of his last five league appearances including each of his last two outings at the Cardiff City Stadium. Bobby Reid has found the net in each of his last two league games; he has not scored in three successive appearances since netting four in the first three league games of the season.
Nervously looking forward to today, though giving my carrot crunching brother in law and nephew and lift too... The journey back could be interesting! Reckon 1-1 myself and would be fairly happy with that in all honesty.
I agree with your comments on getting the kids in to fill the ground a bit more and give some atmosphere, something we have done for a few years now with quid a kid games - usually against teams that don't bring many fans but not for big games, we can fill our ground for these games....
That team doesn't fill me with too much confidence. Still I'm sure Colin has a game plan. Come on you Bluebirds!
Surprised to see Zohore on the bench. Not a bad option off the bench, Feeney's start is also a little surprising.
For me to get a correctscorer grujik is going to have to do it off the bench. Looks a bit of a 4141 with the knife in front of the back 4. Maybe Colin doesn't trust Connelly (back from injury just in time) and bamba without some protection.
That's another monkey off our back. After winning in green in mid week a win without the totem that is Morrison. 6 behind top and 4 above third. Just need to keep grinding out the results.
Didn’t understand Johnson’s tactics. Came for a point and lucky to still be 0-0 until we scored. I thought Bristol this season were best when on the attack but they just didn’t want to have a go until the goal. Difficult conditions but City creates 4-5 decent openings with very little from Bristol. Halford was fair play to him very good today. Not convinced with Connelly and Feeney. Where was Wildschut? Another 1-0 Excellent gritty and hard fought deserved win. Needed those 2 extra points given Villa have an easy game next Saturday. Fulham at struggling Derby.
Another solid team performance. Much better with Madine up front with his ability to hold the ball and bring others in. But big credit to Ken again and he actually won some headers against Flint.
Colin a bolt on for February Manager of the month. 5 wins and a draw. Kiss of death again. Hope the Fulham guy gets it.
Well you got that right!! I have to say that these are exactly the sort of games that in promotion season a side wins1-0 like you have today. All the best for the run-in boys.
A bit disappointed with Bristol, never looked that they could hurt us. One goal was always going to be enough.
Johnson came for a point and was never going to get it playing like that. They played into our hands though I was surprised to see Warnock's starting lineup - in fact it scared me a bit. Once the game started though, it was obvious that they were trying to match us rather tha beat us. They wouldn't have scored in million years and Johnson's tactics to change things mystified me. Surely if you're going for it you don't take probably your most potent striker off and replace him with a CB - they should have played with both up to cause problems in our back line. As it was it was a no contest. Another game where the experience of Warnock came through. Bristol were out-thought, out-played and 1 goal was enough - typical workmanlike Warnock victory woth the same 1-0 winniing scoreline as the last 2 games against Boro and Ipswich. Well done all.
Sparks - bit disappointed your chum Banksy has not been on here to compliment us on our win. No sign of him on their board either. You must have seen him off.
Unfortunately Hilts he seems to believe that they are usually Barcelona esque but somehow they sank to our level. Suggest Supcon watches back all their games in full and not just the highlights reels in his head!!
In all honesty Barry, I was very gracious in victory Just the odd cheeky comment here and there. I wouldn't want to get dragged down to their level in believing we were something special!
Bluey - that long running thread I started over there before the season got underway was a great exchange of views - maybe a little pointed sometimes - until that pillock started on me personally. You might recall It all stemmed from some previous stuff on what became the "BMW thread" when he took exception to the chat with some of their reasonable posters. He doesn't bother me at all, even with his belligerent stuff it's like water off a duck's back to me and it is "his forum" after all. I deliberately haven't posted on that thread since the game today but I notice many of their very decent posters have, so I'll leave it to them for the moment, but no doubt I'll just have to rejoin the wake before long.
