I think Chicago Grey looks a likely type at the moment for the National. I'll double him up with Mull of Killough for the Lincoln.

My 3 against the field in the Lincoln are:
    Fury
    Edinburgh Knight
    Cocozza

Wouldn't back anything though. If Fury has improved a few pounds for being gelded then he has an excellent chance.

If this was a comp though I'd go for these 3 combined with Sunnyhill Boy

In the Lincoln I've plumped for Mia's Boy who has always looked at his best at Donny and finished 6th to Penitent in the Lincoln 2 years ago off a mark of 106. He goes off 101 tomorrow with young Raul Da Silva taking off 5lbs and has been running consistently over the winter, culminating in a cracking run in the Lincoln Trial at Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago, when he came with a rattling late charge and just failed to get to the leading pair. I think a truly run mile is his optimum trip these days and I think the draw 14 is OK as it gives the jockey plenty of options.

I'll leave the National until final decs <ok>

I did my spring double earlier today lads.

    £1 e/w Mia's Boy 18/1 and Mon Mome 33/1

Like you Oddy I fancy Mia's Boy for the Lincoln. I think he really likes the track and I think with 5lb coming off from the claimer, who's worth his 5 imho, he's bang in on the weights. I haven't looked too much into the draw/where the pace will come from but I think at 18/1 (20s if you shop around) I'm willing to take a risk that everything can fall into place for him tomorrow. He seems to have had a good prep run and as I say he looks to really up his game at Doncaster. I think Fury looks to have a good chance too but no doubt the horse with no form that has been laid out for this will be the one to claim glory.

With regards to the National I have plummed for Mon Mome at this stage, but to be honest I just wanted a horse to do my 'not606 spring double' and this selection will almost certainly have changed by Friday Night! I will probably be playing that subsequent selection for a few bob more than a fanciful £1e/w but I was passing William Hill on this wonderful evening on my way home from work and thought why not! That said Mon Mome is 3lb lighter than when winning in 2009, has course form over the fences (was not without a chance when falling two years ago) and has been messing around on heavy ground for much of the season. He's the sort of horse I can see running a solid race even if he's not got the legs to trouble the first couple home.

I have done this and plumped for Fury and Cappa Bleu. The write up is on my blog (link in signature) for those interested.

Good to see lots of names from the old 606 board. Have had a crack at the spring double with a very small stakes ew double on Brae Hill and Giles Cross. First part amazingly came up so if you see a middle aged bloke outside doing a rain dance every night for the next week, you'll know who it is
