Even though I am new here, I won't ask for you to take it easy. Give it your best shot boys My question, is it written into the DNA of the saints fan that as soon as we get a couple of bad results we are all doom and gloom and saying things need to change? My opinion - nothing to worry about. I said in another thread that I think someone is going to catch a packet very soon (hopefully that lot down the road). I still think that's the case. And I still think we will finish second.
We will have to up our game alot to smash anyone away from home. I'm not all doom and gloom we just need to start getting something in our away games. If our away form continues it will get harder and harder for us to keep winning at home, the pressure will be to much. That being said I would never have dreamed for us to be top at this stage. It just pisses me off that we our so jekyll and hyde.
I think for the very first time we are feeling like ManU...surprised and outraged when we lose. Not a feeling that Saints fans are used to.
Another Jen...welcome! I am not all doom and gloom i am very happy with our start to the season even with our below par away form, if you offered me 2 points clear 3 weeks before xmas i would have bitten your hand off. If i am honest i think West Ham will win the title and there is no reason we cant finish 2nd but will take playoffs and would be happy with that. As in regards to our away form i am sure come Jan, Sir Nigel will make the additions if need be. No one goes through a season without a blip, even the prem top 4 have them. Plus remember we have injurys to chappers, connelly, lambo and barney is not fully fit.. NIL DESPERANDUM....
Every now and then we need a wake up call, I have enjoyed the success and want more of it, but have to be realistic, results are not always in our hands, who knows what went wrong at Doncaster? A few players under the weather perhaps, certainly, we missed a couple of big performers, NA had an off day with his tactics, he is human after all, and we seldom got a decent bounce of the ball when it was needed. Ok we are a little bit down, but it be will so much better when we beat Blackpool next week, COYRS.
I think that the majority of the "moaners" are fans that have paid a lot of money to go and follow the team all over the country and it is understandable that they might feel natural disappointment if the team don't perform well (but just imagine what a Skate away fan feels like!). I no longer go to away games, so I have only seen the best of the Saints this season, but I can remember all too well long journeys home after seeing a dismal effort from the team away from home. Personally, I think we are going through a dip in form, but tbf, it would have been impossible to keep up the standard of play all season, we will have to deal with injuries and suspensions, like all teams, but hopefully not too many!
We have had a bit of a wobble away from home, but still stand at the top of the league, with a healthy cushion ahead of third place. I guess most fans would have given their right arm for this position at the start of the season. I am totally unworried and i am certainly not demanding changes. i have total confidence in Sir Nigel and Saint Nic(ola). We might need to strengthen in the january window, and i am sure we will see at least two new faces in the new year. I guess the younger fans might be more impatient, but as an oldie, i have seen too many bad times not to savour these good times.
That's what has annoyed me the most spending my hard earned cash. Travelling all them miles and we play ****e. I wouldn't mind if we lost and gave it a go like we did against leicester. I'll stick to the home games for a while I think.
