The Runners Up Trophy

Am I right in saying we never got presented with it? How Come?

 

There isn't one?

Maybe that was a one-off, who knows.

 

There was for Noriwch last year, and we got one last year for being runners up

Someone ran down to Argos to buy one at half time, but there was nothing suitable in stock.

 

I mentioned on one of the dozens of promotion based threads on Saturday that it would be strange for the runner up not to be presented with any-thing, seeing as the Champions and the Playoff winners receive a trophy. If there isn't any-thing then it's a poor show really. It almost makes the "other automatically promoted side" a forgotten team.

That said, such a trophy (or not as the case may be) will be of no consequence to you come August, when the Premier League campaign gets underway.
Maybe we'll draw you in the FA Cup 3rd Round (if we get that far )

 

I'm not particularly fussed about a trophy, we got the main prize of promotion and playing PL football next season. That's more than enough for me.

 

We get £90 million is that not enough?

The definitive answer then. However, the play-off winners definitely get a trophy as Devon says. So it does seem a little unfair. But really, who cares!

 

I believe that I shall overcome the disappointment with therapy.

 

I thought that the announcer guy on the tannoy said that there was a trophy, but the FL didn't have faith in us that we'd get the job done so it wasn't at St. Mary's?

 

I heard that it was actually at Upton Park, time will tell.

 

I reckon some posh bloke should donate one, there should have been Runner Up medals?

I also heard something about not being there because we might not have won it...FL cheapskates surely could have a copy made. It must be fairly likely that at least 2 teams could win it.

 

No there is one. They just didnt want to risk having it at st marys then west ham winning it

 

Anyone know what it looks like if there is one, I have tried trawling the Net but came empty.

Hi saints well done on your promotion, does anyone remember the old 606 virtual bar??? I think saintdav was the landlord with lots of different users with other jobs, just wondering if they're still around using new names. Also thanks for the warm applause for us after the game, and we were kept on the coaches behind the Northam End and lots of your fans went past clapping us and wishing us well..............top fans and enjoy the PL.
