Well here we all are craving the holy grail that is the premiership but could it turn out to be the poisened chalice? http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/dav.../aug/16/premier-league-football-ticket-prices
Its cost so much for tickets in the prem. Just look what QPR are charging. Around £70 a ticket, that was one of the pluses about League 1 the football is alot cheaper.
When I was 17/18 (Brian Little era) I had a part-time job in a shop, earnt 25 quid a week and was able to afford to go out and get pissed on a Friday night and go to an away game the following day and still have a couple of quid left over. A match ticket and minibus cost about a tenner. It would probably cost more than a tenner in petrol to get from Fleckney to Leicester and back these days!!
A poisened chalice is about right with those ******* prices. Living in Germany I went to watch the Bundesliga champions elect last season (Dortmund) & that cost me 36€ for a good seat behind the goal (RHS) I was a spit away from the players (figure of speech yobs, never have never will) There was 81,000 in the stadium (more than Manc Poo get) Beer was cheap(ish) as was the food, I even managed to take the misses (not my choice) & my oldest lad, top day all round . Dortund won 3-0 btw & went on to win the title. The prices of English football is spiralling out of controll, but it is the best football going. I watched the Real/Barca game & the Man city/swansea game (on TV) & the Man city/Swansea game was far better even though both games had 4 goals in it & the Man City/Swansea game was very one sided. It´s very sad how prices have rocketed.. QPR 70 quid ? WTF I´ll just carry on being an arm chair fan, although I´m hoping to get to a LC game next season, hopefully in the prem
