i think they should be to remember the fallen from the world wars only.

i dont think it should be for modern day soldiers who are doing the job they chose to do, nothing heroic about that imo.

what u think of that then

It's for a day of remembrance so I reckon you can still wear them to support the fallen in more recent conflicts.

Do any of you feel pressured into wearing a poppy? At my firm it is looked down upon if you aren't seen with one and normally I'd be enough of an anarchist to not wear one out of principle but I happen to agree with the cause so I'm happy to wear one. There is a lot of gobby feckers who try to start a row with anyone not sporting a poppy but as much as I'm a supporter for the cause I don't agree with the heavy handed approach of the poppy bullies.

What ever happened to the white poppies for cowards, I mean conciencious objectors?

The poppy should be worn to celebrate the heroic killings of terrorists in Northern Ireland.

    I agree.

We should remember what Dev and his ilk did for us in World War II.

Same. I don't believe in wearing a badge to prove I've donated to a cause, it's ****ed. Also I'm pretty sure I'd get grief in my area of London. They got a handful of change though.

I'd love it if someone had a go at me for not wearing one <laugh>

Agree - don't we wear them in remembrance of men who fought against a regime who used to insist that everybody of a certain faith wore yellow stars? It's a personal choice and it's totally wrong to have a go at anyone who doesn't wear one - equally of course it's wrong to criticise people who do wear them but i can't help tinking that the incidences of this have been more than a little exaggerated.

    To paraphrase Bill Hicks.

"My daddy died for that poppy in Korea, Toby"

"Really, I got mine in Wal-Mart. It was made in Korea too"

You said you would get grief in your area.

    Don't be afraid.

You shouldn't have to be. <ok>

You're so ****ing desperate Medro <doh>

I live in a multicultural part of London. Some peeps don't agree with poppies as the british army is currently bombing their relatives. I have no desire to wear a poppy for several reasons, and arguing with random ****s in the street about wars I don't agree with either seems a tad hypocritical.

    You're incredibly stupid :(
