What're the odds that Chope makes his neighbour's lives hell because one leaf of their hedge encroached on his property? Bernard Ingham was notorious for his decade-long campaign of terror against his neighbours over everything from right of way and loft conversions to a Wendy house
Good thing is it keeps Tory sleaze in the papers for another day at least. They'll want to move on so as to not hurt their beloved party too much.
Sophie has a lot of experience of fighting on the front lines. Playing football for 4th tier teams, working for Burger King and flopping as a Tory candidate, mainly. Nice of her to accuse other people of cowardice, though.
Since our old friend Rob Newman's Straight man is acting like a fighter against racism, let's have a look at his book that came out in February I see he put as much planning into that book as he did that series with Frank Skinner...
The weirdest thing about this is that he appears to be framing Jewishness as a religious thing. Why's that weird? Because Baddiel's an atheist. If Jesus being compared with a Muslim takes away from who he was, then the same could be said of comparing him with Baddiel himself. I'm well aware that you can be Jewish either by faith or by blood. That does create the situation where you can be a Jewish Muslim, though. A Middle Eastern Jewish Muslim, even. You can't see faith, so I've absolutely no idea what point he was trying to make.
He's an atheist, yet what does his Twitter profile say? Just one word: Jew In other words, his Twitter profile undermines whatever argument his book tries to make in a single word
I haven't read the book, obviously, but he seems to be pulling the same routine, again. Slagging off the left and blaming them for things done by the right. One example would be his criticism of the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities. He claims that they lacked any Jewish voices and didn't consider antisemitism. Those may well be legitimate criticisms. It was Boris Johnson's creation, though. It was heavily criticised by most left-wing evaluations. He also criticised Dawn Butler for a speech about inclusivity where she didn't mention Jews. It was the only identity she ignored, apparently. She didn't mention Buddhists or Hindus, either. He appears to have missed that. There are probably other identities that I've missed, too.
Baddiel has always had a habit of missing things, like he himself taking the piss out of spurs players for displaying "Jewish" mannerisms. Oh, and him playing a clip of Ronnie Rosenthal not passing to Jurgen Klinsmann and then saying "the war was a long time ago Ronnie". The first one is easy to find on the Web... But I can't find the Ronnie Rosenthal one anymore. This is from the same man who blames spurs fans for Chelsea fans anti semitic ffs.
