Is it possible this virus is a recurrence of the post WW1 trench flu? I mean, how can Corona-virus just occur....and why in China. What have the Chinese boffins been up to that we don't know about?
I believe the 1919 Spanish Flu was very different in nature, which meant that it affected a lot of otherwise healthy people. What we appear to be seeing at the moment is a type of flu that affects people with underlying health issues worst - which is kind of what you would expect.
Stephanie Grisham is the current White House Press Secretary, having taken the post on July 1st 2019. She currently has more drunk driving convictions than she's done press briefings.
One thing comes to mind(well, many really!), with Trump cancelling travel abroad etc and leaving those people on cruise liners until.....? People have to work to pay for their morgages, cars,ex wives etc. Will they lose houses,cars,jobs,...….? Over to you Basil and Donald.
One thing that's been brought up a lot in the last few weeks is that, in the US, people have zero paid sick days per year. You heard that correctly: zero. Not a single one Of course, while we can act high and mighty with the ten we offer (which is still half that of most EU nations) nobody's paused to ask how many zero hours workers are offered...
Is it wrong of me, that in the midst of The End of Days and The Zombie Apocalypse, the thing that has really 'got me', is that the government's Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance's advice is ****ing unintelligible nonsense... "It is true that any cancellations of things can have some effect (but) if you then get a displacement activity, when everyone congregates somewhere else, you may have perversely an increased risk, particularly in an indoors environment. "So it doesn't mean you should at some point make the decision for the resilience point that has been discussed, but this is not a major way to tackle this epidemic. "The major ways are to try and reduce and delay the transmission across households and people who have become infected and that why that is the concentration of the first actions." ****ing bollocks....
Somebody might want to mention to Jeremy Warner which demographic to Torygraph's readership primarily consists of...
The real surprise is that he didn't chuck in a chorus or two of this... ...Coronavirus was caused by poor people and immigrants, didn't you know?
Doubt it (genome matching of the two strains has no doubt already been done) . "I mean, how can Corona-virus just occur" Because nature is what it is. "and why in China." They appear to have a particular blend of climate + population density + livestock practices + trade routes over the ages, that make the evolution and spread of this stuff more likely. "What have the Chinese boffins been up to that we don't know about?" My money is on : 1. a "Captain trips" style escape from a lab, due to poor procedures +/- procedural lapses 2. the virus not similarly being man made (IMHO genomic mapping + matching on corona virus databases will show this to be so)
