One aspect that I haven't heard discussed in the media is the possibility that Streeting really was plotting for a challenge. If so, and assuming he wasn't ready to declare yet, this has forced him to come out and deny it. At the very least its bought time for Starmer as he will have to include a cooling off period before he does come forward.
It has been discussed on a couple of political podcasts and compared to the situation with Andy Burnham before the Party Conference. General consensus was that it has just further weakened Starmers already fragile status and the damage of raising the spectre of a challenge was far more damaging than sitting on the information. Judging by the coverage including and since PMQ's, that certainly seems an accurate assessment.
Trump has "pardoned" a certain Mr.Lewis so he can visit his kids in the West Indies (I've heard!).Is this good? True?
