I don't understand the appeal of virtually any of the current right-wing politicians. They all appear to be utter scumbags and useless with it, almost across the board. Trump, Johnson, Orban, Duda, Bolsonaro... all Putin-linked arseholes. Meloni's a fascist and I think even she sneaks out ahead of that mob. It's clear that there's a movement of these populist, right-wing tossers. Far too many people are buying into it.
That's the thing with populism: create a two/three word slogan of fifty for people to latch onto and they sing it in a chorus every time like Dr Pavlov's pet pooch You just have to look at how often the "witticisms" of De Pfeffel trended on Twitter, aided and abetted by the Dan Woottoonns of the world, to see how easy it is to get people voting against their best interests by cultivating this idea that they belong if they join others who are also slobbering every time they hear that bell

I won't link to it, as there are no details, but the Fail are running a dodgy story about a Tory MP. The unnamed politician got drunk and woke up naked in a brothel at 4am. He phoned another Tory MP, who appears to have grassed him up. Lovely people.
