I have 'worked' in a polling station at every election since 2010, general, local, european, police commissioner and the EU referendum, and queues are very unusual, the EU referendum is the only occasion that I recall a queue for a significant part of the day and even then, a maximum of 20 people waiting. At a general you may get 5 or 6 people arrive at the same time (school drop off, pick up time and 5-6 in the evening) at a police commissioner election you will be lucky to see 5 or 6 people an hour!

Between the government deciding we needed 30 billion tax cuts to it deciding we need 54 billion tax rises and spending cuts? 55 days.

    1. Should debunk the myth that the Tories know what they are doing fiscally.
    2. How can any government claim to have a mandate to introduce policy with such radically different policy in such a short space of time?

Mitch McConnell was one of the Republicans that voted against the Respect for Marriage Act.
It would protect the rights of gay and interracial couples under law.

    1. That's been the case for many years!
    2. They make ridiculous claims on a daily basis. They have no right to do so, but it doesn't seem to bother them! Defining black as white comes naturally.

With Twitter going down the pan faster than Truss trashed the UK economy it would be nice if the the original owners offered Musk £ 20 billion take it or leave it

Jack Dorsey has already launched Bluesky hasn't he? Not sure he needs to risk $20m, even to see Musk fall flat on his face! <laugh>

It's got to the point where police tape will likely surround Twitter HQ before Exlax swaggers back to work on Monday

I'm not sure what his point is. Seems entirely in character for the institute.

They tend to invite people who have been an MP at some point in their life

This has just been posted on the Royal Mail social media group by Simon Thompson the CEO , as far as I can tell this is genuine, does this look like a sane person who is in a 3 month long industrial dispute, trying to make10'000 of his staff redundant and cut terms and conditions that he himself agreed to last year
