In the midst of financial turmoil, whilst the IMF and major hedge fund managers call out the crassest of crass stupidity on the part of the UK government and British people are facing crises, The Express devotes the front page to encouraging the take up of flu jabs, whilst The Mail devotes its entire front page to a non-story concerning one of Stephen Lawrence's killers having a mobile phone in prison. How ****ing stupid and deluded does one have to be to buy this ****?
He certainly hasn't thought out why attacking the SNP instead of the Tories might not appeal to the average Scottish voter, as that looks remarkably like the jumped-up party from down south attacking Scots and not the other parties from down south
A knight of the realm is a weird insult. Knighted for his work as Director of Public Prosecutions, not because of any class associations. I admire anyone who turns these remnants of a divided society down, but it's a bit tough to compare him to Truss on that basis only. I have my issues with him, but accepting a gong is not one of them.
I doubt any Tory is singing about Lizzie or Kwasi at their bash. Frankly Streeting is a disloyal twat but I like the solidarity. Public like a united party.
Problem is his solidarity is with the betting firms whose posters are in the background of the clip...
Accepting a gong is very much one of them for me. It is to become part of the establishment. It is accepting the rules of the people who as a Labour politician should SHOULD be your enemy. Just as accepting the Monarch is the same. At least half of the population disagrees with these fundamental marks of an unequal society so as has been the case since Blair there is really no political choice in Britain at all. Keir represents just as Blair did the reason why Labour has lost its support in Scotland and a major reason why Scotland wants Independence. Thatcher changed everything including the Labour Party.
Rishi's a scumbag, but he's not stupid. He's not only distancing himself politically from this ****show, he's even doing it physically. He probably thinks that Yorkshire's in Scotland, though.
He has been very impressive since coming back into the shadow cabinet. Utterly destroys whoever they put against him, and been excellent when deputising for Starmer in PMQs.
I agree it is better to reject these gongs. I know I will when inevitably offered one #cough#, but he wasn't a politician then, let alone a Labour politician. Against the lies and corruption told and committed by the various recent PMs, then I would say they are small beer in comparison. SNP is not exactly without issues. Look at the relationship between the current leader and her predecessor for a murky bit of politics.
