Meanwhile back to politics... France's Macron loses majority as defectors form new party. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-52721153 Macron's finished. They are saying he is the 'worst president in living memory'.
Plummet? The tories are still well in front of Labour. You need to look at the polls Wills. Someone might think you are telling the truth. His rating on handling Coronavirus has dropped recently but those ratings go up and down all the time. I believe in the party ratings the tories are -2 and Labour +3 but Labour are miles behind.
English literature Kiwi. For some reason I excelled at it. Crap at Maths/TD/RE and some o5hers but somehow I clicked with it.
Andrew Neil: It was interesting, though, that when Mr Johnson pushed back, Mr Starmer had trouble thinking on his feet I thought the same at PMQs today Keir Starmer was good until Boris hit back on Question 4 and he actually looked lost and had to check his papers and move on. I can’t wait for the Brexit debate when Mr Starmer needs to explain his remain and 2nd referendum stance?
Should probably add the tweet of his before that too. Probably a mistake. The remain and second referendum stances are quite simple to explain really when the government’s own forecasts suggest Brexit will be a disaster.
I have been watching Starmer lookIng for a weakness. Each week he has been forensic but lacked something. Today Boris made him panic... Only for a moment but enough to show that he can’t think on his feet. With him it’s all pre planned and organised. Just wait for those noisy Torys and questions on Brexit. Parliament is a different arena from a court.
Do you really think he’s had the career he’s had without being able to think on his feet or handling debate against better, more prepared people than that fat mop who presumably has done nothing for a week but prep for today after last week’s embarrassment? Yeah he’ll be terrified of Noncey McNonce representing Brexitshire shouting in the background.
I thought Starmer knew exactly what he was doing, especially when he asked about the track & trace app despite Johnson already saying they were confident of the 1st june. This pushed BJ into saying it will be ready by the 1st. I truly hope it is but if it isn't then he fell for that one. Even I saw it coming.
Apart from that it was a non event and not really worth tuning in for. It very rarely is, as questions never get answered by anyone. It was worth watching just to remember what the PM looks like just incase we see him on tv within the next year or two.
Sorry chaps but Starmer stuttered and looked lost on question 4? Even the Guardian thought Boris was better prepared. Sometimes you just have to accept it. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2020/05/20/boris-johnson-showed-not-prepared-punchbag-pmqs/
Probably some transferable skills though from being a human rights lawyer to pointing out the flaws in a lazy blob’s soundbites.
