So its one of those days. Liverpool v Man U live on TV. In the pub this afternoon there will be grown men in their replica tops who have never even been to Liverpool and on Welsh rugby international days going OTT with their nationalism and of course will be rooting against England. Normally i just think its a bit pathetic. However today im faced with one of the plastics saying so "weve got you in the final" , or worse "we are going to stuff you" So suggestions for responses to the plastic scousers. My initial response is going to be "Who the **** are we?" But any help as they will be there for about 2 hours drinking their glasses of coke. We are going to win this final!!!!!!!!!! All they are these days are a mid table club living on past glories.
Hilts not so much a one liner but more a speach i noticed elsewhere and thought of your post on here!!! This is for all of those years you loyally stuck by your home town club. Through thick and thin. Better and worse. Good times and bad. And through it all, the rainy Tuesdays, the sunny Saturdays. The Cup runs, the relegations, there was always that smug c**t, in your street, in the pub, with that cheesy, ****-eating grin. The Liverpool fan. The Liverpool fan whose holiday in Bangor as a child remains the closest he has ever been to Anfield. But a Liverpool fan all the same. We are the best team in Britain. In Europe. The world. Yeah? Well where are your ****ing tears? Your ****ing blood? I've had a hell of a time this weekend, how was your the view from your armchair? How was your celebrations at another trophy? Hollow, I presume? Cardiff City are a team on the up. We may not be up to much right now but we are ****ing real. And one of these days, maybe not this season or the next, but one day it will be our time, and when it is, we will start by taking down you Scouse twats on the biggest stage of all. Remember the name. Come on Bluebirds. This game is for you. For us. Together. THIS IS THE BEGINNING. THIS IS A CALL TO ARMS.
is this thread a rant against glory supporters? i've tried 'supporting' a PL team in past years, arsenal, but even when they were sweeping all before them in 2004 and getting to the CL final i still didnt feel any real satisfaction towards their wins, nothing compares to beating palace at home, i pity glory supporters
whenever i watch a match i usually want one team to win, i watch alot of CL and so i decided to watch all their matches, i wasnt a glory supporter, more of a second team if you like, i'm talking about people who claim to be man u supporters when they live in e.g. cardiff or bristol and wear the shirts etc.. p/s. enjoy the carling cup final
The people who do exactly the same as Cardiff fans from Neath or Newport, yeah? Hope you win it, man. You've won - what - one major trophy ever? Bit embarrassing really, hope you can spare yourselves a bit of humiliation with it.
Come on 18 - you support a team that boasts a huge worldwide fan base (or so you always like to tell us all) so having a pop at Cardiff fans that live near(ish) to Cardiff is knit picking a bit don't you think?
I'm sticking up for those fans. I hate Man U, but I don't think it's wrong to support them if you're not from Manchester or whatever. Same principle: come from Newport - decide to support more illustrious club (Cardiff - well, hardly illustrious, but you know what I mean) instead of local team. Come from Bristol - decide to support more illustrious club (Man U/Liverpool/whoever) instead of local team.
Sorry mate, can't agree. I was born in Norfolk, lived in Norfolk (on and off), never crossed my mind to support anyone other than my local pro team from the time I started to gain an interest in the game and feel people in Bristol should support one of their locals teams etc...
i'd rather be humiliated in the final than the first round, as a leeds fan you've had to put up with about 7 years of humiliation, and long may it continue
I'm exactly the same, but you can't tell a kid who they identify with. It's their gut feeling that determines the right team for them, along with a bit of persuasive parenting I suppose. People who support Man U and pretend to be from Manchester when they're clearly not - they piss me off, because it implies some shame about their local area which leads them to lie about being from there. But I'd say you can be proud of your area and not proud of your local football club. Hope you can bring some silverware back to that soulless - sorry, lovely stadium of yours.
thanks, the facilities of the stadium are lovely, it'll also be nice to have another day out at wembley, 22,844 was your last attendance, in a capacity of 37,900. at least theres plenty of room for you to stretch your legs out!
Look mate, having been to your concrete shed many times, the most pleasing impression of it I can remember was in the rearview mirror of my car when leaving.
It's probably one of his better efforts to be fair to the lad. Can't you say that about any stadium that has concrete on it?
