I had a really special birthday yesterday and woke up to more wishes from my not606 friends. Thank you to everybody. Then went for a walk by the sea and returned back to our rented condo for breakfast on the patio, so far so good. Many friends in the complex passed by and wished me well and brought me a card, some even sat awhile and chatted about how good lifw is here in the Canaries. At 1 o'clock a group of us headed to Taverna del Capitan just up the road for a 2 hour tapas lunch whilst watching the Liverpool vs Arsenal game on Spanish TV with the commentary muted. I had forgotten how nice it was to watch 2 teams playing real football and I'm sure some of you remember real football! The food and company added even more feelgood attitude to what was becoming an even more special day. At 3 o'clock we all headed back to Castillo Mar complex to go our separate ways until later and I decided that I wanted to continue the good feeling so I decided not to listen to any radio (if you get my drift). I was now determined that I would not allow anything to ruin this great day, so when the inevitable news reached my inner being I continued down the path of contentment. Nothing much to add really, except in today's cold light of day life will continue as usual and the future will bring what it will come what may. As I said, the party's over and the last one out please turn off the lights. Get my drift? Have a great summer one and all.
Mike The party was good but was very brief but has taken a hiatus for the foreseeable future. However we'll rise again like the Phoenix....not Pat Phoenix, she won't rise again...! Enjoy your summer too
