Well,we are pretty much agreed that we are satisfied with 13 points from the first ten games,so how does everyone see the next ten going? Villa (A) A hard won point 1 Arsenal (H) Gunners on song 1 QPR (H) Rangers capitulate 4 Man City (A) The shock draw of the day. 5 (Holt equaliser 90+6) Newcastle (H) Another single point. 6 Everton (A) We come unstuck at the toffees 6 Wolves (A) Second away win of the season 9 Spurs (H) 'appy 'arry 9 Fulham (H) New year cheer 12 QPR (A) A no-bore 0-0 draw 13 Another 3-4-3 WDL 26 points from 20 games Canaries 10th
i would say - Villa (A) - L - 0 Arsenal (H) L - 0 QPR (H) W - 3 Man City (A) L - 3 Newcastle (H) L -3 Everton (A) D - 4 Wolves (A) W - 7 Spurs (H) D - 8 Fulham (H) W - 11 QPR (A) L - 11 Tough few games coming up but recover over Xmas
Well I didn't get that many results right but only one point and one place in the table out.Anyone interested in predicting ghames 21-30?
Baggies (A) We nick it 2-1 (3) Chelsea (H) A 1-1 draw (4) Sunderland (A) Cats on form (4) Bolton (H) Latics slide (7) Swansea (A) Nil points (7) United (H) Title in sight (7) Stoke (A) A point (8) Wigan (H) Pie eaters lose (11) Newcastle (A) Hooway the lads (11) Wolves (H) Long face for Mick (14) City safe After 30 games - 39 points 10th place
I think this is going to be very difficult 10 games and I Baggies (A) draw (1) Chelsea (H) A 1-1 draw (2) Sunderland (A) lose (2) Bolton (H) Win (5) Swansea (A) lose (5) United (H) lose (5) Stoke (A) lose (5) Wigan (H) Win (8) Newcastle (A) Hooway the lads (lose) Wolves (H) Win (11) 36 points 14th place
It's difficult to predict so far ahead as we don't know what impact new signings will have but if we look at the next 3 games, I think we are perfectly capable of beating WBA on their own patch. They have lost 6 out of 10 home games and have only scored 7 goals at home all season. Draw minimum I would say. I also think we are capable of getting at least a point against both Chelsea and Sunderland.
rather than predicting WHERE the points will come from, i'm more interested in HOW MANY we need. 18 games to go and a maximum (you would expect) of 15 to reach the 40 point holy grail. very rare to go down with more. personally, i think 38 will be enough, so... 4 wins and 1 draw from 18 games or 3 wins and 4 draws we've given ourselves a great chance
I imagine that it will be high 30's rather than the magical 40 points that is required and I think we could be there by the end of the next 10 games, especially if Lambert does bring some experience in (as suggested on BBC site) to guide the still developing players through some of the games to come.
looking at that run of games, yes there are difficult ones, but there is no run where you think 'we'll have a bad run here'... there are points available littered all over that run of games if we play well
I recall a conversation with my solicitor about this at the ten game mark when he said "I look at the fixtures and really can't see where our next point is going to come..."
