Well BATES should be very pleased with the cup draw yet more money for Simons war chest I believe that when I see it . WE NEED TO get rid of the deadwood OBrien Paynter Rachuba Bruce for good this will release some funds for a right back a fast winger and a central midfielder to put some much needed pace into the team . Darren Ambrose maybe worth a punt but I would not go for anyone over 27 we don,t need someone coming for a last payday ! By my calculations we have at least £3m left over from transfer4 surpluses this season I know £500k will go to fund Pugh and maybe £300k for Keogh but it still leaves us with a fair amount to spend along with the cup money at least a further £500k so lets see what happens another one on my radar is Adam Barton a steal at £500k only because PNE NEED THE MONEY What do you think?
No he was released from Blackburn as he had a serious injury then signed for pne, I think he is out of contract shortly.
Im telling you if we had kept Gradel, got a cb and maybe a right back we would be well on the way to having a quality team with serious promotion credentials
Just been onto PNE site his contract is up in June and they value him at £100k and Clarke CARLISLE AT £1.3M!
Couldn't agree more with who we should show the door. What about looking at getting Killgallon back on loan? And id love us to put in an offer to Reading for Mccarthy that they cant refuse. Think we should have gone in for either Sam Baldock
Baldock was a dodgy one, no1 was sure how he was gonna handle the championship but he has been brilliant. Kilgallon would be worth a go but Kissa n Lees have been handy last few games
I think we need a Gradel replacement, even if just to add an extra winger to the squad. Wilfred Zaha would be my first choice, but that's a bit of a long shot, so maybe Keith Treacy or Albert Adomah?
Treacy and Adomah will each command substantial seven figure fee's, has Papa Smurf had a road to Damascus type conversion?
Afternoon all. On the winger front, we have Snoddy on either side, Sam best suited to the right, & White swapping with Pugh on the left. As we know, White is pretty quick. So not sure we need another winger. The White/Pugh Combination down the left seems to be doing quite nicely thank you. Snoddy also seems to have had a new leese of life of late. The free kick on Saturday was awesome. On those who'll go, I feel a damascine conversion coming on in that I won't whine too loudly if we move Paynter on. Still think he'll get a hatful for someone, but I no longer think it'll be for Leeds. We may hang onto Rachubka depending on how his loan spell goes. But I suspect Maik Taylor is already being lined up as No. 2 for a couple of years until Cairns had got a bit more game time after a loan spell somewhere. Can't see Bruce staying. Think we might regret it, but if as seems possible, we sign O'Dea & keep Bromby, Bruce really doesn't have a place. On Adam Barton, don't know. His Brother, Dick, was good... A special agent you know. Might just solve the mystery of our back 4. Who knows?
Templeton from Hearts was suggested on here the other day. I think he'd be worth a punt. A left winger is definitely still a priority along with centre back. The squad will need rotating a fair bit if we're to stay in the playoffs and our strength in depth doesn't look promotion quality to me.
Interesting thoughts 18. Situation with Herts is interesting. I thinks its their Lithuanian owner that's about to be extradited by to Vilnius. If so & noting our success in finding Snoddy, one or two other Scots coming south wouldn't be a bad idea.
They need the money alright! Might be worth taking a close look at Portsmouth as well. I want to see Grayson learning from last years window & go for some up & coming talent from League one or lower league championship. We want fire in the belly to push us over the line, not someone loaned out with there heart still at there parent club
