I think the next four games will give us a good indication where we are at under Kit and if he's got any chance to get us into the playoffs. Up next we've got; Middlesbrough (h) Leeds (a) Reading (a) Bristol (h) That's two from the top 3, one from mid table and then BC who are rock bottom. There's a lot of games in the season but by the end of this month we will be almost a third through the league. If we took full points we'd be at 24 from 14, averaging 1.7 points a game and set for 78/9 points - the brink of playoffs in last seasons table. I think we have to be targeting 9 minimum, that's allowing for a loss away to Reading, victory in our two home games and a result at Leeds. That would take us to 21 from 14 games, putting us on course for 69. We'd need to go on a run in November, which is possible, to get that points average up. What do you expect from the rest of the month? I would argue that if, by the second game, we're not on for 9 points still then the decision on Kit has to be made. Last season was different circumstances entirely for him, and we averaged 1.34 a game under Kit - worryingly this season we're at 1.20. If we take 7 points in the next four that takes it up to 1.35 for this season, setting us on course for 62 come the end of the season, just short of the playoffs. My big fear is that this is what will happen, 7 from 12 will seem a decent return and we'll carry on as is
Silkship you got the home and away mixed up, but I'd say if we could get 7 points from those fixtures we'd have done well. Middlesbrough (a) Leeds (h) Reading (h) Bristol (a) We lose confidence very quickly both as supporters and the team. Even at 2-0 up and the opposition score you see the confidence drain in both the support and team, it happened last season. I dread when we give corners away. I think Symons is right we are still a work in progress, but for me he is not someone who exudes confidence, he doesn't inspire me, he sounds more of an apologist when he talks. May be a good run of wins will change that.
Kit certainly talks the talk, but fans want results, but as said the next 4 games could be a big decider determining our final seasons position. If we fail in our next 4 games I for one do not want to see a dead man walking still at the helm, but finger crossed, lets hope the results are such that we are all hoping Kit through his success takes us onward and upward
Reading away will be tough they are the inform team at the moment and I believe they will finish top two
