I've heard that the top section of the new stand will not be open next season - anyone else heard that?

My assumption is that attendances will not be big enough to warrant it being used?

If that's the case then I would hope it can be opened for one-off games - for example in the (unlikely) event we get a big club in a cup competition

Sounds more and more like a white elephant with every passing day.

Surely SL can sit up there on his own, king of all he surveys with his stupid smug grin intact, watching L1 football on his infrequent visits back to the UK

    The top section holds 4,100.
Rumour is that area will be for Away teams in FA Cup matches.
Won't be much fun for City fans sat below if Leeds turn up.

More evidence of great forward planning, no matter who the visiting team are....Why not give away fans the whole of the Atyeo which is easier to Police ? Too easy/logical I guess...?

This sounds silly. There will be a certain amount of fans who want to relo from the south & Atyeo to get a better view on the side of the pitch. I'm sure some in the Dolman will also want to move as the West Stand will hopefully have more legroom and wasn't designed for oompa loompas........

If seats are fitted, it will be open. No seats, like MKD had for a few years, and there's your answer.

Seats are definitely going to be fitted. No way it's going to be like MK.

Away fans next season will have the entire Atyeo, so no need to have an extra half a stand.

The planning has been at best haphazard, but an element of City fans clearly want to occupy a section of the Atyeo, have worked for years to ensure against the odds [SL!] that Ashton Gate retains a small part of its former Eastend culture. City fans are in discussion with Bristol Sport attempting to create a City pub facility within the Atyeo.

Having a flexible arrangement as exists now where away capacity increases/decreases v demand of away support is logical and supported by the Police and Council safety advisory group.

Thought I read on here that they were getting the whole Atyeo. Stupid idea if true, can you imagine when a team like leeds sell it out! Would be like a home game for them.

There is going to be (99% certain) a City themed Bar/ Pub under the stand next season. This will also be accessible to those in the Dolman. The supporters club & Trust may also have a facility. In the stand. Very much City fans one side, away support the other.
