Mr Neil Warnock brings his chargers to town on Tuesday for what could be the most crucial game of the season. A must win for us,we cannot allow them to take points. Will it happen not sure, but it is a monster game. A loss and itchy bum time will be creeping in again. I was in Leeds today doing a few jobs at my sons home,im sure i could here the hull fans roaring with their four goal win.
never seem to get anything out of Rotherham. We lost up there when they were struggling 3-0. With the form they are in, I can't see anything other than an away win. Hope I am wrong. Looking forward to the game
Rotherham and Charlton have been lucky in recent weeks with last minute goals. We now have three games out of four at home so we will know our fate In a fortnight's time. Fulham have a far tougher run in than we have so I have no worries whatsoever that there are clubs worse than us. Hardly an indictment I know
One thing for certain is that my season ticket does not get renewed until I am 100% sure that we are staying up. The scenario this year is that there will be loads of seats available so why should I renew now and find that I've wasted my money as I do not want another season of Third Division crap. I don't see Rotherham in isolation as a must win game but, to lose it, could do some really serious damage to the squad's confidence for the rest of the season. We are only two defeats away from a very squeaky bum time! I know that is pessimism but 66 years following City has taught me to be thus.
I'm renewing today, why because regardless of what division we are in I want to watch football on a Saturday. I just love the buzz of getting up and going to the ground. I went 6-7 years of just going now and then, during my last few years and break up of my ex wife and to lose that buzz is far more annoying than watching third or forth division football.
Agree with ROD. Yes it will be a pain in the ass if we get relegated but there's nothing worse than not being at city on Saturdays. You only end up sat there listening to them on the radio so you might as well get a SC. Plus next season will be history in the making. Our stadium will finally be finished. Think we'll stay up anyway, then hopefully we have Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa to look forward too!
Thanks ROD and Shiny for your comments. But after 66 years with 50% of them watching Third & Fourth Division junk, I can't face any more of that. Maybe I will listen to the radio, maybe not. I'll always be a City fan, wanting them to do well but not a lot changes with one good year in ten. When I retired, I imagined going to every home and away game, Under 21's and other Academy matches but a trip to Ashton Gate now leaves me so tired I don't think it is worth it unless I get to see some decent football. I'm just getting old quicker than I imagined If we stay up I'll have an ST but there will have to be a big improvement in the entertainment and achievement for me to continue for another season after next year. Continually fighting relegation, I've done, worn the T-shirt, got depressed with three relegations on the trot and I don't need any more of of it. And if Bristol Rugby cock it up again, they can also whistle for my money.
I agree with Cidered abroad - I think it's more 'must not lose', than 'must win'. The bottom two are set and we have a six point cushion to MK Dons, who themselves are struggling for points with time quickly running out. There's still work to do, but they'd swap positions with us in a heartbeat. I understand why people are down after the Hull game - it was a highly disappointing result, despite being a tricky fixture - however, it's hardly fatal. I don't want to completely dismiss the value of goal difference, but ultimately it's worth less than a point, so losing by four, though demoralising, isn't a great deal worse than losing by a single goal. We reacted well to a similar thrashing by Brighton, so hopefully this will act as a motivator. No doubt Rotherham will be a tough game right now, but we need to be positive.
Sorry guys this is a must win game, look at the next two fixtures very tough indeed. we need three points tonight and LJ is saying the same.
So if we only draw, we're f****d? Not my intention to say tonight's not important; just my opinion that our season is far from over if we draw. In this league, it's hard to predict what games we'll get points from and which ones we won't - doing the double over Middlesbrough wouldn't have been expected for example. A win, coupled with MK Dons and Charlton dropping points would be very nice though.
If we draw or lose I can guarantee that there will be threads saying we are down even if Bolton, Charlton and MKD lose 16-0 or something. Tin hats at the ready for the Warnock love in threads as well.
It's not a must win, whatever happens tonight we will still be out of the relegation zone be it anywhere between 3 and 9 pts, we could easily win or lose tonight and be no better or worse off with the gap still at 6pts. It will be disappointing if we don't win and it may make a game later in the month a must win but this one isn't.
