I watched the Yeovil game on TV and I couldn't believe that Kenny a so called goalkeeper persisted in kicking the ball high into the wind in the first half surely the manager should have told hiom either throw it out or kick it low if hes the best weve got no wonder we are not in the title racefor me hes not fit for purpose Not sold on Stewart either cant beat a man plenty of pace but no guile . Needs to learn to pass a ball to a team mate not the opposition ! Rant over
Wasn't the best conditions for Stewart to show us what he's made of Mike but agree Kennys decision making is shocking. Exact same style of Goal keeper as Schmeichel, Can't collect crosses roots to his line flaps at the ball but makes brilliant saves every now and then.
I questioned Kenny earlier this season after being one of his admirers, as much as I was a screaming at the TV for him to stop kicking the ball high the Yeovil keeper did exactly the same second half, comical from both of them.
Agree with all of the above. I commented on the match thread I couldnt believe Kenny persisted with kicking in those conditions when the ball wasnt making the half way line or going out of play. As for the Yeovil, I was sure they were going to have learnt from that and play it out from the back, they didnt and Rosco punished them for it.
Surely the bench would have give him instructions, or at the very least could have got a message to him to go short? Both parties, the player and the management are at fault with that one
You would have thought with all his years of experience and just one dollop of common sense he could have made the call himself, the Yeovil keeper too. I feared two things at half time 1) The wind would drop 2) We wouldn't have the stamina in us after playing into it first half.
Kenny is a liability and in my opinion cost us a point against Leicester and 2 pts against Ipswich. If it was to come out that he had been given a bung to let that goal in against Ipswich I could not disagree. His time has past and we need to be looking elsewhere. We were linked with Cesar on loan, that would be amazing. If not then a younger keeper in the summer like McCarthy from Reading or Westwood from Sunderland. I also think Stockdale from Fulham would be good. (Its not about how hard we can hit, its how hard we can get hit and keep moving forward. How much we can take and keep moving forward, thats how winning is done.)
It's not just the Yeovil game where Kenny's been hoofing the ball - he's been doing it since he joined us. Now I can understand that in Warnock's reign, but not McDermott's. I'm afraid there's a big questionmark over BM for not stopping him doing it, or even worse - encouraging him to do it!
Can't see how Kenny had any other option. Attackers were directly on top of him and our close defenders which made it impossible to play a short ball out. Thought Stewart and Kebe were good. I'm just glad we got 3 points from the match as the weather ruined it from being a real spectacle, but I don't have much of a problem with any of our players in that match.
Wish he was staying back there but it looks like it is due to only being available for 93 days, we are saving him till the end of the season.
