Very quiet in The Nest tonight - I have some high priority PC fixing to do as Mrs W_Y cannot find any of her old PC files that I transferred onto this new Mac and I cannot find them either, so I running a recovery on the expansion drive to see what it comes up with - but it is very slow!

2 weeks ago when I was trying to save all my photo's to a external HD, I thought I lost them all into hyperspace<yikes>, eventually found them though and safely transferred them. Tried to take a big step into modern tech with a Tablet, but it was sh1t and it did not interface with Skype and the internal videocam of the Tablet. Also the app for not606 was not very good either, it kept going to page 1 of the forum and you had to turn the pages to get to the last page, such a pain! I managed to return the Tablet and had my senses returned care of the wife and went back to a laptop, which is far more user friendly. Next time I decide to take a leap, I will ask the wife first <laugh>

    Morning all
Back from a family wedding up near the Potteries. Lovely morning here. Settling in to listen to the cricket. Sort of hope Sachin gets his 100x100 today, but really hope we do the whitewash.

Afternoon all, I am back to contribute a few random thoughts.

Saturday evening I left here saying that it felt as we would be getting a storm. 3.00am Sunday it arrived on a massive scale. Friends sixty miles away suffered it as well, and most people had a very disturbed night. By Sunday morning everybodies internet connections and phones were out of action, and they didn't return until late this morning. Usually a big storm will clear the air, but yesterday and again today the temperatures have stayed up in the middle 30s. More storms have been forecast before the temperatures hopefully drop Wednesday.

It would appear that my phone has died so will have to go and invest in something new. It hardly seems worth the trouble of claiming on the insurance this time.

India suffer a mini collapse and currently stand at 269-8. However they only trial by 18, so could England have to bat again!?!? Unlikely thinks this man.

Swann goes round the wicket to Gambhir with four men around the bat, including Bell right under his nose at silly point. But Gambhir departs when he slices it straight to backward point!!!

India now at 277-9. Englands lead at 14.

Credit to England for denying Sachin throughout the series.
Well done boys. It's such a pleasure to have an England team in any sport that actually functions!

..and they're all (with the possible exception of Levi) nowhere near the end of their careers.

Seeing the youngsters in action on Thursday in Ireland should be interesting as should the reaction of the Irish fans to Morgs being captain of the England team.

Thats the end of the series lol AK. To explain briefly a test match lasts up to 5 days but can be won in less. England and India were playing a 4 match series.
