Hmmm unless the local police are covering up their inadequacies and leading us to believe it was not an international terrorist attack! the fact they caught the gunman and now said he was connected to the bombing , leans towards right wing political activist or nutter!

I don't rule out the possibility of a single nutter being the driving force, but I can't believe that he was entirely alone. This seems too well executed, and from what I can tell he was too well equipped for that.

I am sure that the police have their reasons for connecting the two things, but from all that I see being reported in different countries it is difficult to make the connection. The shooting would seem to be the right wing activist as the Prime Minister was due to visit the camp today and could have been the original target. One report says that the man arrested is a blond Norweigan. The bombing however has all the hallmarks of al-Qaeda, and seems to be very organised.

Whatever the reasons it just has to be totally and utterly condemned.

would it not be a huge coincidence if the two things were unrelated?

Right wingers , read farmers! They have easy access to firearms and funnily enough bomb making materials!! you can make a big explosion with some chemicals found in fertilisers!!! add to that that some have access to dynamite for field clearing, getting rid of big rocks! ally that to an ability to speak the language , mix easily with the locals maybe a bit of internet research ! and that theory suddenly looks very possible!
I still think it is a terrorist act from AlQueada Norway has been in the process of deporting muslim clerics of ermm extremist views! There are a lot of now homegrown asian background kids , that would be gullible enough to recruit! There will always be a threat from the especially the armed gang members in Oslo! The thing I find confusing is the gunman is obviously a scandinavian! guess we will have to wait for the news to come out! Things have been very complacent here since 9/11 people have never thought Norway would be attacked in this way!
This will be a wake up call for them as 9/11 was for America, In that respect we have been well trained by the IRA!
The PM is speaking tough and telling the country not to be scared and to carry on as normal ,which is the correct thing to do,if it is a terror attack you cant be seen to being cowed into submission!
My thoughts goes to the friends and familes of the victims today!

On that note I\m going to bed a long day in store tomorrow , Hornette and Elixir enjoy the game tomorrow! I will be trying to steal a glance at a computer to see how we are doing!
    Good night all

Could be a quiet night for you H. Norway off to his bomb proof bed, BHD off to his playground and I will soon be getting into my kingsize.

Still there do seem to be the waifs and strays finding their way in for an after hours tipple recently. I am sure you will keep them topped up.;)

Wonder if any of any of the youngsters at the camp were supposed to be going to the World Scout Jamboree next week? Just spoken to my son and he thinks that there'll be at least one minutes silence for them at the WSJ, even if they weren't going to be there.

    i love this line:

"When they opened up the container they said it was like a murder scene," he said. "But it smelled phenomenal."

Some people do know how to conjure up pictures with the use of words H.

Right it is match day here already, and there is no question that I need some beauty sleep. Just ask Mme. :(

Hope the broadband is holding up. See you later today or tomorrow as the case may be.;)
