Hampshire--ah, you must be reading geography. Don't forget to reference Parker and Penning -Rowsell in any discussion of effectiveness of flood warning measures, cost-benefit analysis for flood prevention schemes and/or disaster risks in large urban areas. However, as you must know, disasters often occur when the responsible authorities spend their time preventing or mitigating "expected" disasters , and overlook less conventional threats. We have been worried about losing players, and now we lose our best executive manager..... typical...

Leonardo - I was able to turn down a lot of friends who wanted me to go out last night so I'm sure I'll be able to cope till Saturday, though if don't hear from my by Monday, fear the worst!!

Toby: More of a relentless man myself! Got me through festivals, all nighters and now exams! Can't beat it!

Roger - Actually sociology - looking at the impact of disasters on people. So stuff like collective trauma, disaster capitalism (how people try and make a profit from a disaster - oh hi Bassini!) Pretty interesting!

I went to Southampton Institute, and my last exam was in the Guildhall. Finished and went straight over to the Goose and Granite (now Flares) for 11am and didn't stop drinking until very late!! It was a very good day!

Mine was always pull an all-nighter then a couple of cans of red bull - not sure all these others were invented back then ;-)

 

Sorry Hampshire - I must try to get out of "Daddy" mode - my son takes his last exam of his 2nd year next Wednesday - wehn he lived at home I use dto often find him "revising" ...... NOT Good luck again

 

Oh and for anyone interested - they are showing the full 1 hour version of our Escape to the Country programme this coming Sunday on BBC1
