I lost a lot of weight when Lennietta was ill - she was eating practically nothing so I did not have much appetite myself - have put on a bit since then so now just need to make sure it is fairly stable

Weight is a comfort thing. I'm not worried about it if I feel good and carrying an extra 15Kg around aint fun. Fact is what matters is how much of that weight is useful ie bone and muscle and how much is baggage fat.... When I was in the gym every day sometimes twice a day I couldn't get below 92Kg which was a BMI of about 28 for me borderline obese but I was actually fit as a fiddle carrying not a lot of fat and oxygen was like nectar through my lungs. All the measures are rubbish tbh, waist measurement in proportion to height is probably the best of a bad bunch but a photo speaks a thousand words and that profile pic showing me looking 7 months preggers says time for action!!!!!

Like we have said before though, take the weight off in a controlled manner ,do the gym in a controlled manner! I know your competitive edge ! and that is what could injure you!

    Afternoon all.

Lovely pub lunch...pan fried pigeon followed by sea bass washed down with a lovely Orkells ale from the Isle of Man. Then daughter no 1 drove me round the Hampshire lanes in her beautifully restored 1965 Plymouth...a real head-turner (the car, though the daughter looks well too). Feels like August!

Have to agree there. 20 years ago my weight was stable at 92kg - I cycled 26kl every morning before work then walked the 2kl trip to work & also played squash 3 times a week. A routine visit to the quack revealed that, according to his bloody chart, I was apparently 15kg overweight!

Needless to say, I changed doctors.

Theo that lunch sounds like heaven....... Getting the daughter to drive so you can partake of the ale also sounds like fantastic planning. If only petrol were cheaper here, is that plymouth a yank tank? I'm a petrolhead and crave a vette or california at the moment but my brains beginning to think that even with the GTO my cost per mile of about £1.50 is not acceptable / justifiable. Norway yes competitive but I'm learning to listen to my body, actually its not giving me a choice!!! I just want to end up enjoying oxygen whereas in previous fitness drives its been an ego trip....

Blimey, got home today to find one of my current neighbours is being a bit of a naughty boy with Nancy Dell'oglio or whatever Mrs Eriksson is called these days. Missed all the press hoo-hah. Shame because the present Mrs Nunn might need consoling, and she is a babe. If Imogen Stubbs reads this (and I doubt it) she can leave a message in the notifications section!

Norway, it was wonderful...what Sundays were created for.

Aberdeen...yep, a yank tank with a 4-litre engine that does about 15 to the gallon, but it's just a beautiful design, long sloping back window, chrome everywhere, a sort of metallic bronze with black stripes down the bonnet centre. My daughter takes it to rallies dressed up in 50s and 60s clothes...it looks fun. But then she also rides around on a Harley...the young eh?
