Got your attention? lol, so last night, Jordan Henderson IMO creates as much mess as he does good, anyone else agree?

Also; was really impressed with Suso, the commentators gave him a rough ride but i thought he was strong on the ball and snappy with the passes. Pacheco was non existent and i have to say i thought Brodgers gave him far too much time on the pitch, it was evident to me 45 minutes was enough for him. Our defense was shocking but this could be down to a number of factors. Wisdom was terrific (and yes i thought that before he scored!). And i want to see Assaidi in the first team.

    Just my 2 cents

    : )

Disagree. Thought he was excellent. I'm not his biggest fan but credit when its due. I thought he was our best player on the night apart from Shelvey when he came on.

Also, I was a bit dissapointed with Suso. Ok he didn't often give the ball away but he didn't really do much. I thought he would have been eager to impress and thought he could have got in the box more or tried some more ambitious passes or ran at players more than the once he did. If he's going to challenge for that attacking midfield role he'll have to prove he can be more of a threat. If he's just going to play it safe maybe he'd be better as one of the 2 deeper midfielders

I was happy with Suso - he looked tidy and composed. But as you say, he didn't do a lot else apart from a great run which I thought he should have take the shot for himself. The attack is still extremely frustrating (despite scoring 5 goals) - there appears to be some sort of fear that prevents the players from getting into the box.

Yes, dont know why that is. Surely with the formation we play the striker and attacking midfielder should always be there, but also one of the 2 midfielders behind should be trying to get forward, and I really dont understand why when the ball is on one side, our other wide player on the opposite side isn't getting in a position to score. not much of a 4-3-3 if only one of the front 3 get in positions where they can score. They should be making runs to the far post, maybe nick a tap in if its squared across goal.

  6. I think you're being harsh on Henderson. He put in plenty of running and worked hard, and got a assist too.

I also think people need to realise how young and inexperienced that team was last night, there was always going to be mistakes especially defensively. With Downing be the experienced head of the attack, we didn't do bad to score five! Apart from Enrique, I thought the back four plus the keeper played well but lacked pace.

Perhaps i am, but as hendos running around was clear for all to see, i thought he often left gaps on the pitch where he should have been instead of chasing the ball - which in turn confused teamates, and interestingly he seemed hesitant (or knackered) coming to the aid of our defense on the edge of the box. there was definitely a couple of times he went in for a challenge, didnt get the ball, gave up and then the opposition got into a strong position.

dont get me wrong, being a nuisance to the other team's midfield can be helpful but his movement sometimes reminds me of a "headless chicken" (quote from my old PE teacher)

I was happy with Suso aswell. We forget it was his senior debut and he was steady for the whole 90 minutes....i have watched him alot in the reserves and once he gets used to the senior standard of play you will see alot more from him.

The guy is exceptionally clever and will not try to run before he can walk......

I agree with this, Henderson wasn't the problem, it was Sahin. He was attempting to make silly passes without looking up, and this made the midfield rather loose. Jonjo Shelvey tightened the midfield up when he came on. Henderson did really well, and his awareness to pick out Shelvey was top drawer.

I thought the whole team did well apart from Carra, Enrique and Downing. Henderson had a good game, he has a great engine on him and im confident he will turn out to be a top player in time.

I thought Henderson had a decent game. I also thought it was the three senior players who didn't. Coates was compromised because of it.

I thought Henderson was pretty good.

Assaidi looks awesome. Quick, light of his feet and creative. He also knew when the run is lost and its time to pass it on. The Young Boy's defense were very quick to close him down.

Pacheco is not a striker. It showed.

I think Downing was our best player. Put some good crosses in and got some assists.

    Henderson did well I thought...

Now, I am always the first person to defend carra and say how people are over reacting about his decline but Jesus he was bad last night.

Shelvey is going to be a top top player I think, getting better by the game. Wisdom was awesome and was a shame Pacheco got lumped up front as he looked lost.

I also think Borini will come good for us, hopefully bagging his first PL goal at the weekend!

Let's face it, we have the possibility to put together a second team that has an average age of 22 (apart from Carra who's almost as old as me! <laugh>) and that can only bode well for the future of LFC. The vast majority of those 'kids' have potential to spare! To that end we can take great pleasure in last night's result.

Even if last night's team was full of 'seasoned' players they would have struggled to gel as they have never played competitively together. So to pass judgement on any of the performances is very difficult. However, if I am being very critical then I would question both Sahin and Pacheco. I was expecting more from Sahin. However, he is still settling-in and there were signs of plenty to come. Danny P on the other hand appears to have missed yet another chance to make his mark. Now i know that he didn't get much 'service' but then neither did he demand the ball or make space for others (a la Borini). If Henderson has to be judged then I would accuse him of trying to do too much to take the pressure off the youngsters around him.

Henderson created more in one game than Joe Allen has in six.

Enrique had a shocker. Seriously, I don't know how they've done it but they've managed to turn him in to Djimi Traore. Downing played very well while Borini looked a better player than he has done recently when he came on. It was good to see Shelvey stake a claim for Sunday.

If Pacheco had no service, why was Downing crossing into an empty six yard box?

It's a shame Yesil didnt get on.

How tall is Pacheco? How many 1st team goals has he scored with his head? How many ball were played into him on the floor?

Think you'll answer your own question
