Not being a native Salopian, I only started watching Shrews in the Conference season. Others here will know Gay Meadow far better but I couldn't help but appreciate its charms. It's the only ground I've been in where, in autumn, a leafblower was regularly employed at half time to clear the pitch from the trees along the riverside. I never saw it used but you should have apicture of a coracle Rocky - even more quaint than you'd imagined. And it wasn't a regular ball boy but a guy who knew how to use a coracle. One thing I have wondered though, having visited Craven Cottage (another lovely ground) a few times. Did Fulham have a similar arrangement or was the Thames too far from the pitch (or the stand too high)?
