Off the pitch, I think we should go for a manager without any Carrow Road connections at all. Personally I'd be happy to take a risk on a relative unknown rather than stick with Adams or just pick one of the usual suspects. On the pitch, there is so much to do that it's hard to know where to begin, but for me the biggest reason why the season fell apart was because RvW, Hooper, Redmond and Snodgrass just did not work together as an attacking unit. If we keep Redmond, he needs a strong manager who will force him to turn that potential into reality. If we keep Snodgrass, there is no point playing a counter-attacking style where we let the opposition have the ball, because for that you need speed and Snodgrass has none. RvW, I'm pretty sure will go. Hooper could be very good at Championship level but he needs a better version of Elmander beside him if he's really going to thrive. Ryan Bennett we must hang on to. A full season in the Champ could be the making of him as a player. I'd love to hang on to Olsson, but fear we won't. Ditto Fer, who I know has been very patchy, but I still think there is a brilliant player in there waiting to come out. Hope we can keep Howson and Tettey, too. Strange that all season I've criticised the midfield, and yet it's the midfield players I'm most keen to keep. I guess I think they're not bad players, they were just used badly, and I hope we could dominate many Championship clubs with that midfield.
Unfortunately I fear Fer will be first out of the door. He is class and suited to the Prem. He's the one player I would love to hang onto, but he, Snodders and Olsson are all going to receive decent offers I think. I'm not surprised you want to keep the midfielders at all - all teams need to be built around a solid and consistent midfield. One of our biggest problems is that our midfield has been ravaged by injuries. Contrast this with when Southampton got their first injury to a midfielder this season... The only thing we need in midfield is a bit more variety which we were all calling for - more Hoolahan's and Fox's. Our current midfield are all relatively decent, but quite samey.
I echo the Hooper comment. Got a feeling he could be immense in the Championship. As for manager... Lambert could be available soon.
what i meant was 'i saw leroy yesterday' - in the street. didn't speak to him - i don't know him. i then wrote 'no chance of him staying' but this is merely my opinion. apologies - it did look misleading but i promise you, in my head it sounded perfectly clear!
i was joking mate - we shouldn't expect your insider knowledge all the time and expect you as yourself more
Just by the by but I notice that you have moved to Sheringham at long last mate! I hope all is well up there on the Norfolk Riviera!
Been here about 5 weeks now mate. Things are looking better all the time........... shame this season has gone boobies up a bit though
