I'm not sure about you but I take this mornings paper headlines from The Sun and The Mail with a pinch of salt. The report stated that Bale has told the club he wants to stay, but a lack of direct quotes doesn't flood me with confidence. http://tottenhamtodareistodo.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/bale-will-he-stay-or-will-he-go.html - An in depth article as to the future of our flying Welshman. So will he stay or go, that is the question. In my opinion he'll stay because Levy won't sanction it, and Bale doesn't come across as the type to throw a strop like Berbatov/Modric. But what do you guys think?
I think we will have one more season from him. I think Levy values him so highly (and rightly so) that it will scare off most potential suitors.
even if bale was to suddenly start kicking off like modric did last year, Levy would do the same with him that he did with Modric last summer. so he will not be leaving. However, Modric could be sold this summer.
The lack of quotes doesn't bother me. When the reports come out about PlayerX wanting to leave there are never any quotes and we always assume PlayerX is about to shaft us and wants out. So, purely to be consistent we should believe that Bale is staying despite the lack of quotes
Agree. And papers rarely "create" stories if they are not concerning something dramatic. There is no motive in making up a "there's no drama here" type of story. So I would believe it.
I would hope Bale is not the type of player to demand a move, however if a bid actually comes in from a real madrid, barca or dare we even think it....man city then that is when you see a player, person for what they are. Its easy to say "im happy here" yet as we have seen in the past, players say one thing but as soon as a bigger club comes in then they change character.
Hi Gio, good to hear from you. I think we're ok with Bale personally, if we get Ade on board, no question, he gets on well with him you can see that, but I think he'll stay a year anyway. He's seen Levy embarrass Modders a year into a shiny new contract, so he won't be too keen to against him till the time is right, but as ever, its about whats written in his small print so we'll have to see.
I would hate to see him go, he's a unique talent. He has the potential to become one of the most dangerous weapons that any team could have in their armoury. He's virtually unplayable, on his day and at 22 he's only going to get better as he learns.
Levy wont sell Bale this summer, and probably wont sell Modric either (even though Modric may want to go). I think the only way Rat Face will get a move (if he really is desperate to leave), is if he throws in a transfer request and does a Berbatosser.
