When I go to Fratton Park, there are two things that are important: atmosphere and being able to hear the tannoy in the hope that they'll play some good music.

The north stand is better for the latter, and the Fratton End has the best atmosphere. However, it's quite hard to hear the tannoy because it's so loud, so this is a random question and I'm not sure anyone will know the anser, but which part of the Fratton End is the best part to hear the tannoy from?

Can't say I know all the ins and outs but maybe you cannot hear the tannoy because there isn't one. You've had to make a lot of cost cutting measures in recent years <ok>

We do have tannoys as I can hear them to an extent, but usually not enough to make out what song is playing. I could be missing something good like Avicii!

A good old distorted tannoy adds to the atmosphere everything is too pristine these days - when you are 3 nil down at half time gives you something to moan about besides the game and if 3 nil up who gives a bugger anyway..

It's a public address system. Tannoy is a generic term, like Hoover instead of vacuum cleaner.

Ahhh, but the thing about me, is I am incredibly passionate about music. Music is my life. When I'm on the train to Fratton Park, I'm as excited about what music they'll play over the PA system as the actual match itself.

    Don't you mean brand term?

So if anyone's interested, I went for the north stand in the end, because there were no seats remaining on the Fratton End that was on an aisle. And I feel less claustrophobic when sitting on an aisle seat. I alway do at the cinema too, unless there's so few people that it doesn't matter (and I tend to try to go to the cinema when there's few people)

I'm the same re aisle seats - shows/cinema/planes - hate crowded lifts - Singapore Airlines have single window seats in business so even though it costs buckets more I shell out and pay some say I'm indulgent but being in a window seat with two others on my outside is not my comfort zone.
