On the talkSPORT drivetime programme right now they have an imaginary 'football time portal' where they are asking people to phone in and tell them who they would re-sign for their team from the past and why. This got me thinking and I have to say I really didn't have to think too hard about it either. I've been watching City for over 40 years and seen some cracking players turn out for us, but I would only go back 12 years and re-sign a certain Mr Huckerby. Imagine adding Hucks to the squad we have right now, I would say Premier League survival for us next year would be a given if he were in the current side in his prime. So for a bit of fun, which Norwich City player from the past would you bring through the 'football time portal' and why ? The only rule is that you must have seen them play in your lifetime.
Judging by the title, I presumed this thread was about the Ipswich board. Huckerby would be interesting, both as someone for Redmond to learn from, and to see them both support a striker.
Oops, forgot perhaps every player except Fotheringham and Theokletis! Whilst I would love; Bowen, Culverhouse or Huckerby, or maybe Holty, Sutton or Ashton to bang in the goals. Id plump for Crook, great player who could make a team tick! Bah!
He's fat , He's round He's worth 2 million pound ..... Robert Fleck, loved his banter with the crowd, his goals and assists. Not the best player we ever had but you couldn't help not liking him
Crook is a good call but for him to have the same impact on the modern game he would have to give up those ciggies
