Right, if my maths is correct this is how it stands -

    1 Gillingham 79
    2 Port Vale 71
    3 Northampton 68
    4 Cheltenham 68
    5 Burton Albion 67
    6 Rotherham 64
    7 Exeter 63
    8 Fleetwood 60

So maximum points are as follows -

Gillingham - 91 (if we beat Burton)
Vale - 86 (if they beat Burton and Northampton)
Northampton 83 (if they beat Vale)
    Cheltenham - 80
Burton - 82 (if they beat Vale and Us)
    Rotherham - 82
    Exeter - 78
    Fleetwood - 75

We need 4 points from 4 games to have automatic in the bag, regardless of other results however if we win on Saturday against Torquay it means only Burton, Vale, Northampton and Rotherham can catch us. If Burton, Northampton or Rotherham lose and we win then we are up.

This is ignoring out goal difference which is enourmous, both Burton and Rotherham need 19 goals and max points to catch us.

    So what to look for?

If Vale win Friday a win on Saturday for us puts us on 82 points, so we need Rotherham to lose or draw as well. Our goal difference will still be huge so really it would be party time but not locked on.

Of course if we are wanting the title we want Vale to lose Friday then we need 2 wins on the trot to take the title.

    Important info!

IF THERE IS A WIN FOR EITHER TEAM FRIDAY AND NORTHAMPTON LOSE PLUS ROTHERHAM DRAW OR LOSE SATURDAY WE NEED A WIN TO GO UP!

IF BURTON WIN FRIDAY AND NORTHAMPTON LOSE PLUS ROTHERHAM DRAW OR LOSE SATURDAY AND WE WIN WE ARE 2 POINTS FROM THE TITLE.

throwoff I'm not sure what you mean if we beat Vale ?
No point in including Fleetwood & Exeter - they can't overhaul our current points total.

    Apologies, I meant Burton, edited!

Its very hard to keep up with it on account of many teams having to play each other.

I would work out an average but thats a lot of effort!

If it helps this is the table as it currently stands taking in to calculation each teams maximum numbers of points available and current GD:

We only need three points to secure promotion over Burton and Rotherham due to our current GD.

IF Burton lose Friday they are out.

IF Port Vale do not lose any games, we will need eight points to be sure of the title as Vale's GD is currently one better than ours.

IF Vale lose Friday we will need will need 4/5 points to lift the title dependent on GD. Now technically if Vale lose Friday we could take the title at Cheltenham. Although from a selfish point of view, I do not want it to happen at Cheltenham because I will either cry or have to find myself a ticket!

Everything will be clearer Friday night.
