Statistics show Hughes did much better in points per game, its just that others like Wigan hit form at the same time. We got something like 30% more points than we were getting under Warnock which meant Warnock would have taken us down.
With Colin I think we'd have been safe by mid April, we'd have won most of the easier games we had in the Winter and saved the strain on our hearts we all suffered April and May! He'd have bought in players that would have improved us immediately, and his teams are a lot less boring than MH's. MH used a huge amount of cash January but we didn't get any better. I am no more optimistic about next season than I was last. MH talks the talk but hasn't improved us when it counts on matchdays yet.
Agreed. Hughes took over in 17th and finished in 17th having spent around US$18m in the process. Hardly pulled up any trees.
Good to hear not everyone is wetting himself about MH, Swords! The boring old f*rt needs to get us up the table and then not go cap in hand to the likes of tottering hoddspurs soon as a vacancy turns up, before I start singing SparkyHughes BlueWhite Army in Sunday morning church!.
