You may remember that he was applying for a new job within government circles. He was successful but decided that any form of social media would put his position under threat. He requested that his account would be deleted. Great shame that someone cannot make comments about football in case they hold some coded messages. He gave me permission to give the reason for his departure if anyone should ask.

The PM is only echoing the thoughts of 90% of the population. The rent a mob brigade has attached itself to this cause to promote it's anti-capitalist agenda. If it goes on for very long the protesters will lose the support of most of the remaining 10%.
Would you deny that we have a duty to hand over the World to the next generation in a habitable condition SH ? How do you propose to 'know' what 90% of the population thinks - or are you a mass mind reader ? We have seen that demonstrations, marches and petitions alone are not enough, and this is the result. You do not have the God given right to poison the World purely for profit !
I think we can safely assume that the comments from the PM are as normal well away from the truth. Unless he has been to see the protest I don't know how he could say that the protesters are living in "hemp-smelling bivouacs". Still it sounds good to his blue rinse brigade.
Boris Johnson's popularity is rising all the time due to his good understanding of public opinion on the main issues of today. I'm sure the fleabags he has described will be present in London today, some are professional complainers that could do with a good bath and a job.
Fortunately I was not one of the people prevented from attending local hospitals for cancer treatment etc yesterday. Demonstrating is a basic freedom which should be defended always. Deliberately preventing the public from going about its normal business is not acceptable and will ultimately damage a decent cause. I hear UK fleas are not as bad as the the French kind. The French do have a reputation for not washing much, one of our au pairs was very slow in the washing department I remember.
Maybe if you want to see the protests stop, then you should bend the ear of your government. If you don't wish to one can only assume that you are not worried about what state you will leave the world in for your grandchildren, or theirs. The only reason that the people are there is because they believe that the government are not making much effort, instead coming out with empty platitudes.
Let them demonstrate for as long as they like, I have no problem with that. Protestors should stay within the law, when they break the law they should be fined an amount in accordance with the financial damage actually caused. Let us have a general election so those that absolutely prioritise green issues can vote for the Green Party, this is the democratic way.
Any movement which actively prevents patients attending important treatment will soon lose any public support.
The environmental issues should transcend the political divide however... We have the Greens who put the environment absolutely first with little consideration for the reality of the prevailing social structure (not that that's an entirely bad thing) and the apparent imposition of some sort of communist ideals if I read them right. The LP wax lyrical on the environment but are they really that committed? HS2 springs to mind for starters. They are about social change while paying a bit of lip-service to the environment. LD's? Who knows anymore? I don't such has their lurch to the right compromised the more laudable ideals of the party. The CP? Money. Money. And, erm, in case you haven't guessed....money. Their money and their cronies money. Such is their denial of human-driven climate change in the face of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary that they cannot be trusted on any issue be it: emissions; C footprint; pollution prevention generally; food standards; social welfare. Whether I agree with "extinction rebellion" methods or Greta Thunberg's angry little girl style is not of consequence: that they feel forced to adopt such tactics because successive right wing, self serving, money driven, governments did not listen to them when they were being polite in saying "please listen to the scientists" is the point. Regardless of the methods they use on the issue they are quite correct about the issue itself, make no mistake. Furthermore they are pretty angry with those who would seek to excessively profit from the situation... and in that regard I am too... it is immoral that some seek to hold a ransom on providing clean air, water, land and a thriving ecosystem.
I think it's become clear that Bojo is rich on rhetoric, and in playing to the gallery, with catchy one liners - which is all huff and puff which works to replace actuall content. Use of expressions such as ''uncooperative crusties'', ''hemp smelling bivouacs'', ''littering the road'' and ''nose ringed'' tells us more about him than about the people described in such a way. I suppose this is to be expected - having been placed in the position where he either has to plead for an extension, or break the law he is consequently throwing handbags in all directions.
It is immoral that some think their political and environmental aims trump patients trying to meet their necessary appointments.
