Amazingly I find myself in agreement with Sensible.

All eyes are now on Mr Brent and his leadership. He came in as the reluctant bidder, was paraded on a pedestal as being Lord Brent the saviour, he was welcomed with open arms, he has been allowed over a year of total non-accountability whilst the relief wave of avoiding oblivion swept over everyone.

Now a year later, all that grace period is starting to run out, everyone at the club from fans, to staff, to players and management have now fully dusted themselves down and eyes are back on the pitch and back on expectation, rightly so too.

The time has come when Brent can no longer hide behind his saviour status, in much the same way as the Tories have run out of mileage in blaming Labour for all the worlds ills! The buck is now with him and with the rot still terminal, all eyes are turning his way to look for some leadership and inspiration. At other "normal" clubs, this would be the moment when even the most tolerant and understanding of chairmen would act and sort out the management / coaching with immediate and decisive effect.

We'll find out now what Brent is made of, how good his leadership is, how much he is really willing to invest to keep the club going and what his real intentions are. From the various mutterings on all fan sites the expectation is for Fletcher to be removed and replaced with a "proper" management and coaching structure but sadly the reality is resignation that it probably won't happen.

I'm going to the game today, should be interesting, let the events unfold..... This has become more of a drama story than a football club. Full of heroes and villains and more twists in the plot than you can count. Most fans attentions today will be on what happens around the match rather than during it!!

Well DS that is a good account of where we are.....not too much to disagree with in what you say........my first question is have you undergone some form of personality trans-plant in the intervening period since you used to come on here with all guns blazing.

I don't expect you to answer that......other then to say that in your opinion we have all moved more towards your opinion...... than you towards ours.

We have regularly been told by Brent that he will not be throwing money at PAFC,that it has got to pay it's way......it is hard to find fault in that approach.

The other regular mantra from Brent....is that there will be no knee jerk reaction regarding the manager.....that he has faith in Carl Fletcher to eventually take us to (not so much the promised land) but a secure place with stability to then press on again.

I worry that there are many (some say sheep) on PASOTI who blindly shout down any form of opposition to what Fletcher is doing. The lack of Boardroom football knowledge is very worrying.

Who gives Brent direction regarding football know-how....ok nobody can say that Brent hasn't the ability to make successful business decisions and make a profit....but football is more than looking at a balance sheet......so who guides him ?

Who gives Carl Fletcher directions regarding being a manager....who can he talk to with his problems.....not Larrieu or his training staff I would think.

The Directors....men in suits.....have been brought together with ground development being the end product......I don't know where that leave Peter Jones .....what is he there for....maybe to pacify the masses as a known face ?....who knows.

With there break even attendance figure needing financial support......and the big drop again to just over 5000 for the Burton match....there will be alarm bells ringing for Brent with his bankers cap on.........ok a mid-week match followed by a big Saturday game might have kept the non-season ticket brigade away...so the 1000 drop might not be permenant.

DS....as you say Brent's leadership will be tested..... if Argyle cannot reverse the present trend.....the Conference relegation spots are not to far away.

.........and as I have said at the top of this thread Conference standards have risen or tier 4's have dropped.......so dropping down to the Conference still needs quality management,,,,,AND WE HAVEN'T GOT IT.
