Had a look at some of your games , You have beaten players a lot higher rated than me , so it must be down to bad luck! Would be nice to clash with Leo , have a feeling I would lose , but sadly we will never know! Trying To teach H a bit yesterday , she suffers similar snags to you and me ,ie moments of lost concentration , which leads to errors! I guess what I`m trying to say is concentrate , dont multi-task and reduce the amount of cock ups If only I could heed my own advice! Oh and maybe having 6 games on the go at once could be be spreading yourself too thin!

Managed a draw with Leo - Good game..!! Am in with Yorkie and Toby, then its a decider with Norway.... Do you chaps think running the league by % rather than points is a better idea - then we can play as many games as we like, started, say, by middle of feb to call a winner by the end of the month. Then do a summer/spring league up to july ish?? What do you reckon............?????
Thanks for the game 2RJ - I am sure if I were a better player there had to be a way to make those two pawns count - but as they were each isolated I just could not do it - you came close to turning the tables too
Leo, Ross never dies easily and will fight a lost cause ferociously,even when others(like me would have quit and resigned)!
This was a case where we both were down to a rook and pawns - I had a couple of extra but they were each isolated and I just could not drive them forward - as I say a better player than me may have known how to - 2RJ offered a draw but I held on just trying to solve the puzzle but when we got down to one pawn each we agreed a draw

I enjoy playing against other Hornets - and do all the time - but the league did not work because some people just were not available enough. I am trying to get as high a score on the Chess.com ranking as I can. Trouble is that you need to play people with a hifggher ranking than yourself to really gain points and move up - on my games against 2RJ recently I scored 5 points for a win but lost 6 for a draw - it is not easy !!
Have played the most games in our league so far , although my availability tends to be patchy! Leo I know you wont play me but if you want to play in this league I will gladly stand aside!
I dont give a toss about my rankings or scores on chess .com! I just want to play my friends and have a chat at the same time , Not really interested in playing strangers! the great thing now is is I have met a few of the chess players in our ranks and a few more non players as well which has been fantastic!
Dunno Hon will play it as it happens and give it heaps of time ! all i can do , will happily try to explain what Im doing in another game , hopefully I wont nearly lose it as our beloved team nearly did
