Morning all, sunshine and showers here, but very much milder. :emoticon-0100-smile

Sad news that the French police officer gave his life to save that of a hostage. Going into my local Super U yesterday I did think that maybe I was lucky that the gunman lived where he did and not near me. <rose> Arnaud Beltrame.

I have just booked two hotel rooms for my trip over next month. Same hotels as for my last visit, but £40 difference in price. Supply and demand I suppose. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Words are impossible to describe such dedication, bravery and intelligence. Leaving his phone connected showed despite knowing the danger he remained totally focussed. Hero is not enough.

I don't have a problem with this glare very often, as when it becomes dark there is very little traffic on the roads around here. I do notice it when I am on the autoroute, although the central reservation keeps it well away. Driving around the lanes of Dorset and it becomes a real problem for me, despite sitting in the ditch. Maybe it is not so bad if you live in a well lit city or town.

Good weekend this one. The clocks go forward and instead of dusk at 7.00 pm it goes to 8.00 pm. Maybe looking at the weather forecast for Easter in the UK, British Summer Time seems just a little optimistic. Here we alter our clocks tonight, but I think I remember NZ saying they had a different date. Does this happen in the US with all of the time zones, or Mexico?

Huddersfield tix arrived a while ago. Hotel booked. I'm staying over in Sheffield for the weekend so will be beering with an old friend who moved there on the Friday and Saturday nights. Must have a look at the GBG for Huddersfield. Last time I went (2-1 win) the Huddersfield Beer Festival was on....

Morning all. A lovely sunny warm morning, that has brought all the cyclists out. On my trip to the baker the verges are full of cowslips. In the fields there are lambs everywhere, many of them in vertical takeoff mode. A real good to be out day, so more gardening calls as I want to prepare the ground for my spring cabbages.

Took some plants to my daughter this afternoon, and found that my eldest granddaughter was without the brace on her teeth. She has had it for nine months, during which time there were certain things she could not eat. Today she was able to have her favourite. Treacle Tart. Must say the dentist has done a very good job. :emoticon-0100-smile
