Morning all Just received a rather obvious HMRC email scam attempt regarding a promised tax rebate. I'm sure you're all wise to such things, but this one is apparently quite common at the moment so beware!
HMRC never send out emails notifying tax payers abut tax refunds. If you get one it is a scam. Just delete it straight away. Call HMRC direct if you have any doubts.
Evening all. As I have said before my pet hate is plumbing, so when Mme informed me this morning that there was some water coming from under the kitchen sink, my heart sank. French under sink plumbing is let us say different, with lots of push together bits of plastic, joining up with second bowl, and discharge pipe. A few bits have to be glued together, and having emptied out the cupboard, found that one piece had been dislodged, and would need gluing back together. Of course the last tube of glue was quite old and rock solid, so it would be a trip to the DIY store to get some. Having waited until Mr. DIY man had finished his lunch and lifted the shutters, I went straight to plumbing section only to find they were out of stock. Off then to builders merchant who also was out of stock. Final throw of the dice, a second merchant who did have it in stock. Off to pay at the desk, and nice lady wanted my name and address. Having found me on her computer there was a great whirring as her printer produced the receipt, an A4 sheet in glorious colour, and all for a €4 tube of glue.
