Good morning all from a mild and dry Weston-super-Mare! Lunch time temperatures finally climbing towards low twenties C Have a good day!
Good morning all, another warm sunny day ahead, but I doubt it will last throughout the weekend. Off to do the shop this morning which never fills me with delight, but will give the back a bit of a rest for a few hours. Have a good day!
Morning all from a bright & sunny Bandit Country. Busy day ahead, just been to the butchers and picked up some vitals for a BBQ today and tomorrow, got some work to get through and then my monthly Physio appointment this afternoon and then the grass has to be cut - then a few beers and a mountain of meat on the BBQ
I'm off to Majorca for a week to celebrate the Tories success in Scotland, back in time for the hornets last game. It's great the SNP have lost their majority!!
Morning all from a Jersey that is cloudy and dry but we did have rain overnight. I'm leaving shortly for the first day of a 2 day course so I become a softball umpire.
Morning all. Moves afoot to select a club song for fans, in the mould of I'm forever blowing bubbles, - someone has created a survey covering twenty possibilities https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/C69G2J9
Good morning all from a balmy Leafy Bucks. A drive out into the West Country is the order of the day for luncheon. Must put some air in the tyres before I go. I voted for I'm Still Standing. I think it has potential, a good upbeat tune.
Up, up you Hornets Up and do your best. Cos when you do your best, you're much better than the rest. We'll cheer you on, right through thick and thin. Cos we're the ones from Watford, and we don't give in! Putative club song circa 1961 (and I even remember the tune).
...but do you remember the cartoon character in the programme around that time? His name?... Vic Rijrode of course!
No - that would have been a bit before my 'programme buying' time. I was an impoverished youth when I started going in 1962 - had to scrimp and save for the admission price. The riches to afford a programme came a good while later, when I was old enough for a paper round.
An option not on the list - use Georgia, changing it to Watford, although the other places in the lyrics may also have to be changed for English ones. It would be more appropriate given that the backing singers were WFC players and staff, although from the video on YouTube of a performance on a German TV show, GT wasn't one of them.
